The much-anticipated Phase 8 of the Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft Classic has been announced, set to commence on April 8th. Two days later, on April 10th, the Scarlet Enclave raid and the Legendary weapon questline will be accessible. This phase is unique as it’s packed with entirely fresh content exclusive to World of Warcraft, making it a must-see for all fans.
Starting on January 28th, the seventh phase of the “World of Warcraft Classic” Season of Discovery update was launched. This update introduced Naxxramas, the last raid from the original game, which has led some to speculate that the experimental servers may soon be ending. However, Blizzard Entertainment later announced that an eighth phase will follow, and there may even be more updates beyond that.
Currently, it has been announced when the latest update for World of Warcraft Classic, titled “Season of Discovery,” will be released. On April 8th, experimental servers will progress to Phase 8, introducing a blend of outdoor environments and crafting/profession content in New Avalon. First appearing as a Scarlet Crusade outpost during the starting experience for Death Knights in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, this town makes its debut in Vanilla World of Warcraft. In this version, players will collaborate with a breakaway faction of the Scarlet Crusade, working together to infiltrate enemy territories, build trust among the locals, learn new crafting recipes, acquire fresh rewards, and more.
WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8 Release Dates

- April 8 – New outdoor content, profession content in New Avalon, and Scarlet Enclave-related quests.
- April 10 – Scarlet Enclave Raid and Legendary weapon questline (available at 1 PM PDT)
Subsequently, on April 10th, the Scarlet Enclave Raid commences. An ominous influence has seized control over the Scarlet stronghold at Tyr’s Hand. Approximately 20 to 40 players will need to unite in order to confront the eight bosses hidden within. Data mining hints that players may encounter some recognizable characters during the raid, including a living version of the Forsaken leader from World of Warcraft, Lilian Voss. Therefore, players should stay vigilant and be prepared for any surprises.
Not only is this an exciting development, but simultaneously with the raid, a new Legendary weapon questline for Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins will unfold. While Blizzard has been secretive about the nature of this “fallen weapon”, it’s likely to be none other than the renowned Ashbringer two-handed sword. Clues uncovered on the World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery PTR point towards players possibly heading to Mount Hyjal to cleanse it.
In previous Seasons of Discovery, unique instances like the Molten Core raid’s boss or the Karazhan Crypts dungeon from WoW Classic’s Phase 7 were introduced. However, it is worth noting that Phase 8 marks the first Season of Discovery patch that is entirely new content, making it one of the most distinctive and thrilling updates for World of Warcraft Classic to date.
