IO Interactive, the creators of the popular Hitman series, has revised the PC system requirements for their new James Bond game, 007 First Light. They made these changes after players pointed out some discrepancies in the original specifications. The updated requirements mean players will now need less RAM – 16GB instead of 32GB – and the game will run with less video memory, making it accessible to a wider range of PCs. 007 First Light is scheduled to release later this year.
IO Interactive recently announced the PC system requirements for their upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, but fans quickly spotted some issues. Many were eagerly awaiting these requirements since the game’s impressive reveal last year. The listed minimum specifications included a non-existent Intel Core i5 9500k processor. Additionally, the recommended RAM requirement of 32GB – even for playing at 1080p with 60 frames per second – seemed unusually high, especially considering the rising cost of RAM.
New 007 First Light PC Requirements Revealed
The recent confusing system requirements for the new Hitman game left many players concerned, but IO Interactive has clarified the situation. They explained that the initial requirements were posted in error due to a miscommunication within the company, and were based on an older, incorrect version. After further testing, they’ve released updated specs that should ease worries. IO Interactive apologized for the confusion and promised to share more performance details as the game’s launch approaches.
We’ve updated the PC requirements for 007 First Light. You’ll now need less RAM and VRAM to run the game. The minimum RAM has been reduced from 32GB to 16GB, and the VRAM requirements are now 6GB (minimum) and 8GB (recommended), down from 8GB and 12GB respectively. We’ve also removed the specific “k” series requirement from the minimum spec Intel Core i5 processor. With current RAM prices and shortages – some are even predicting delays for next-gen consoles – it’s great that 007 First Light can run at 1080p with 60 frames per second using only 16GB of RAM.
The recently announced lower system requirements for the new James Bond game have caused some concern. After watching gameplay from last year’s State of Play, many worry the game might not run smoothly. While the game’s world looks fantastic, viewers noticed frequent stuttering and frame rate drops during the showcase, describing the performance as “rough.” Now that the requirements have been lowered, players are eager to see how well the game will actually perform on PC when it releases later this year.
The release of 007 First Light has been moved from March 27, 2026, to May 27, 2026. IO Interactive, the game’s developer, says this delay will give them more time to polish the game and ensure it meets player expectations. They describe 007 First Light as their most ambitious project yet, and have confirmed the entire game is now playable, with the extra two months dedicated to final refinements.
