Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service for both Switch and Switch 2 owners. While services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass let you play newer and older games, Nintendo Switch Online focuses on letting you enjoy classic games from older Nintendo consoles.
With Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you can play a huge collection of classic games from consoles like NES, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, SEGA Genesis, and even GameCube.
In 2025, Nintendo Switch Online gave players access to a great selection of classic games, featuring favorites from series like Zelda and Mario. TopMob has compiled a list of the 10 best Nintendo Switch Online games you shouldn’t miss!
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

If you have Nintendo Switch Online and haven’t experienced The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time by 2025, you’re in for a treat! It’s consistently ranked as one of the best games ever made, and for good reason. As the first 3D Zelda adventure, it brought the world of Hyrule to life with immersive storytelling, a compelling blend of exploration, puzzles, and battles, and characters you won’t forget.
Super Metroid

Released in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, Super Metroid is the third game in the Metroid series. It follows Samus Aran as she battles Space Pirates to find the last Metroid. The game is a classic 2D action-adventure, letting players explore a vast world while running, jumping, and shooting. Throughout the game, Samus can also find upgrades that give her new weapons or abilities.
The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker

As a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion member, I was super excited to finally get my hands on the original GameCube version of The Legend of Wind Waker on my Switch 2 in 2025! This game first came out way back in 2002, and it totally shook up the Zelda series with its unique, cel-shaded art style. Instead of a huge, connected land, I spent most of my time sailing around a massive ocean, exploring tons of islands. I had this awesome talking boat, the King of Red Lions, that helped me get around the Great Sea – it was a really different experience!
Super Mario World

As a huge Mario fan, I’m so excited that Super Mario World is coming to Nintendo Switch Online! This game first came out way back in 1991 for the SNES and instantly became a favorite of mine. It kept a lot of what made the series great, but it also introduced something totally new and awesome: Yoshi! Being able to ride around on Yoshi, and having him run faster, eat enemies, and even shoot them out was a game-changer. Plus, it’s the best-selling SNES game of all time – you really can’t go wrong playing this one!
F-Zero GX

F-Zero is a beloved, fast-paced racing game set in the future. While it builds on the familiar F-Zero formula, it stands out with a story mode that lets you play through nine chapters as Captain Falcon. The game boasts exciting tracks filled with twists, turns, jumps, and even roller coaster sections. Plus, each vehicle handles differently, adding to the challenge and fun.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is a standalone story within the Fire Emblem series. It takes place in the land of Magvel, where a prince and princess must defend their kingdom from invasion. The game is a tactical role-playing game with turn-based battles. You control your units and fight alongside allies against enemies, and each unit gets stronger as they gain experience. Be careful though – if a unit falls in battle, they’re gone for good unless you start a new game.
GoldenEye 007

If you enjoy James Bond movies and are looking for a great first-person shooter, GoldenEye 007 is an excellent choice. Based on the 1995 film, you play as James Bond, tasked with stopping a criminal organization from using a powerful satellite weapon. Originally planned as a side-scrolling game, it became a groundbreaking first-person shooter for the Nintendo 64, inspired by titles like Doom, and went on to become one of the console’s best-selling games.
Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Rayman 2: The Great Escape was a significant game because it brought the series into the 3D world. Released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, it’s a classic platformer where you guide Rayman through levels, fight robot pirates, gather glowing orbs called lums, and figure out puzzles. You mainly use Rayman’s punches to get around, but as you play, you unlock new moves like powerful attacks and different ways to travel.
Golden Sun

Golden Sun is a fantasy role-playing game originally released for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, with two sequels following later on. Players control four characters on a journey to save the world from a dangerous power called Alchemy. Throughout the game, you’ll meet memorable characters, battle monsters, and unlock new skills and gear.
Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart 64 is a racing game where players drive karts, and it’s the second game in the Mario Kart series. Released for the Nintendo 64 in 1996, it became one of the console’s most popular games. The game is played similarly to other Mario Kart titles – players select from eight characters from the Super Mario universe and race on 20 different tracks based on locations from Super Mario games. Throughout the races, players can pick up special power-ups and abilities familiar to Super Mario fans.
Okay, so I’ve been looking for gift ideas for my friends and family, and I found a great list of the best Nintendo Switch games for the holidays! Also, this is a big one – Doug Bowser, the president of Nintendo of America, is retiring at the end of the year. They’ve already chosen someone to take his place, which is good to know!
Now that we know the Nintendo Switch Online games coming in 2025, let us know which ones you’re most excited to play! Share your thoughts in the comments or join the discussion on our TopMob Discord server.
