10 Best Xbox 360 Games With High Replay Value

The Xbox 360 had an amazing collection of games. There were so many fantastic titles released between 2005 and 2013 that it would take a very long time to name them all.

It’s great when a console has so many good games, and it usually means you’ll want to play them again and again. A big reason for this is the ability to play with others.

I, like a lot of people, spent many late nights playing Xbox Live during my college years. Sometimes it was the fun of playing with others online, and other times it was because of the great single-player games. Many Xbox 360 games let you play through them in different ways, so each time you play feels unique.

I still love playing these Xbox 360 games! Even after all these years – over a decade, can you believe it? – they’re just as enjoyable as the first time I picked up the controller. They’re super replayable, so I keep coming back for more.

10. Crackdown

Oh, Hey, They Gave Us A Game With The Halo 3 Beta

People often joked that they bought the game Crackdown simply to get early access to the Halo 3 multiplayer beta. The actual game itself was considered a bonus on top of that.

In reality, Crackdown was a pleasant surprise, delivering a massively enjoyable open-world sandbox.

When many open-world games were copying Grand Theft Auto, Crackdown took a different approach. It wasn’t trying to be realistic or dramatic; instead, it prioritized pure fun, exaggerated action, and letting players become incredibly powerful.

Look, the Crackdown sequels just didn’t hit the same way the first one did, honestly. It’s a shame, but I’ll always have a soft spot for the original – it’s a classic for a reason!

9. Fable 2

A Fantastic Action RPG For The Xbox 360

The first Fable was a fun action RPG, even though it didn’t quite live up to all the hype. But that’s typical for a game made by Peter Molyneux – his games often aim high and don’t always fully deliver.

While the second game didn’t quite reach its lofty ambitions, it’s a much more successful vision overall. Fable 2 keeps the fun, fast-paced combat of the first game, and benefits from the more powerful Xbox 360 console.

I really enjoy playing the first Fable, but it definitely shows its age sometimes. Fable 2, however, is a huge step up – it’s better than the original in almost every way.

What I loved most was seeing the game’s initial idea really come to fruition. While my choices don’t literally change the world, the people of Albion definitely respond to what I do, and it created a surprisingly emotional experience. I usually enjoy playing as the villain, but Fable 2 actually made me feel bad about some of the decisions I made.

8. Forza Motorsport 4

Sim-Racing Perfection

It’s a shame the main Forza Motorsport games haven’t been doing so well recently. I really enjoy Forza Horizon, but it’s not the same thing. Sometimes I just want to take older, less powerful cars and tune them up to perform like a high-end sports car, you know?

Turn 10 Studios made an already amazing game, Forza Motorsport 3, even better. It perfectly combines realistic physics with smooth performance, creating the best racing simulation available.

Forza Motorsport 4 was a truly exceptional racing game – a complete and polished experience that many still consider one of the best ever made. Even though newer games look more advanced, they haven’t quite captured the same special feeling that Forza Motorsport 4 offered.

7. Gears of War

Helmets Optional

Gears of War: Reloaded demonstrates just how well the original Gears of War still holds up today. The entire trilogy was a standout experience on the Xbox 360, offering fantastic cooperative gameplay and some truly memorable online matches.

Overall, I prefer the first version because it just feels right. What really stands out is the multiplayer – even with a few annoying issues like the host having an advantage and the shotgun being so powerful, it’s still my favorite part. I especially remember how much fun I had playing it when it first came out and connecting with other players – it’s a memory I’ll always cherish.

Look, later Gears games got Horde mode, which was cool, but the first one still hits different. I still love playing through the campaign, and honestly, the multiplayer maps in the original are the best the series ever had. I’ve got so many great memories tied to that game, it’s special to me.

6. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Something Something Arrow To The Knee

Look, I’ll be honest – I don’t think Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls game. Morrowind and Oblivion both top it for me, personally. But since Oblivion’s getting a really nice remaster these days, and that’s how most people are playing it now, I gotta give the edge to Skyrim. It’s still a fantastic game, just not my absolute favorite in the series.

Even though it’s not usually my kind of game, I have to admit Skyrim is truly special. It’s amazing how much there still is to explore after all these years. It feels just as captivating now as it did when I first played it back in 2011 at the midnight launch.

This game keeps getting re-released for a good reason: it’s a fantastic take on the classic Bethesda style, making it easy for new players to enjoy without losing what fans already love about it.

Bethesda is taking a deliberate approach to the next Elder Scrolls game, explaining they need to start fresh creatively. However, they’ll continue to support and explore Skyrim, ensuring players can still enjoy everything it has to offer.

5. Fallout: New Vegas

War Never Changes

It seems wild to consider that we got not just one but two Fallout games on the Xbox 360.

Fallout 3 successfully brought back the Fallout series, and for years it was actually my favorite. However, I believe New Vegas is the better game because of its incredible depth and complexity.

While I still think Fallout 3 is a stronger game overall, Fallout: New Vegas boasts much better writing, a more immersive experience, and truly memorable characters. What makes New Vegas special is that each time you play, it feels fresh and new.

I’ve been a fan of Obsidian for a long time, and they just keep blowing me away! It feels like they always manage to capture the magic of classic RPGs, creating these incredible experiences that I know I’ll be playing for years to come. They really are in a league of their own when it comes to making RPGs I can’t get enough of.

4. Mass Effect 2

My Favorite Game On The Citadel

Any of the Mass Effect games would be a great choice, but we’re choosing Mass Effect 2 because it’s considered the strongest installment in the series.

While it doesn’t have the same incredibly engaging multiplayer as the next game, or the focused narrative of the one before it, Mass Effect 2 still stands out as the strongest entry in the series. It excels in every other area, making it a truly exceptional experience.

The story and role-playing aspects you loved are still here, but the game is now much simpler and easier to pick up and play. Mass Effect 2 continues to be a benchmark for great gameplay, not only in Western RPGs, but also for third-person shooter games that use cover.

Even though the story doesn’t quite wrap up perfectly, the Omega 3 Relay remains a memorable part of video game history, challenging players to truly care about and understand their team and their individual stories.

3. Grand Theft Auto 5

That’s Right, This Was An Xbox 360 Game

Let’s be honest, Grand Theft Auto 5 seems to have been released on almost every platform imaginable, perhaps even more than Skyrim, particularly when you look at the latest gaming consoles.

Even so, it’s still a game made for the Xbox 360, and surprisingly, it manages to succeed despite being very ambitious.

Grand Theft Auto 4 was a groundbreaking game, bringing the series into HD with a compelling story and a richly detailed open world that felt truly alive. However, it did rely on bowling as a side activity a bit too much.

Grand Theft Auto 5 fixed previous issues and took its storytelling to a new level, creating a remarkably immersive experience. Unlike many games, it doesn’t force activities on you; everything feels natural and driven by your own choices. This is what makes GTA 5 so enjoyable, even after all this time.

2. Halo 3

Multiplayer Matches Until The Sun Came Up

I had a tough time deciding between Halo 3 and Halo: Reach for this spot. They’re both fantastic games, but in very different ways.

Halo: Reach is my all-time favorite game in the series. It has a deeply moving and complete story that truly excels in every way.

I still find myself jumping back into Halo 3 whenever I play the Master Chief Collection. It’s one of those games I spent so much time with back on the Xbox 360, and for good reason! To me, it really represents the best Halo multiplayer has to offer. The weapons all feel balanced, the maps are fantastic, and I loved how the new equipment added another layer of strategy to every battle.

Every Halo game made by Bungie has its strengths, from the story mode to the online battles. But Halo 3 was truly special – it perfectly combined everything to create an amazing experience. While Gears of War was a huge draw for the Xbox 360, Halo 3 is what kept players coming back for more.

1. Rock Band 3

Rock And Roll All Nite

To be honest, when we weren’t playing Halo 3, we were usually playing Rock Band. That was pretty much how we spent our time back then.

You really can’t go wrong with any of the first three Rock Band games. The original Rock Band was groundbreaking, Rock Band 2 is what most fans fondly recall, but Rock Band 3 is arguably the best in the series.

A lot of players didn’t think much of adding the piano to Rock Band 3, and I understand why – it didn’t seem like a huge deal. But for me, two things about the game really impressed me.

This installment is the most user-friendly in the series, offering a better overall experience. But a surprisingly great feature is the included soundtrack. It’s packed with a diverse selection of well-known songs spanning many genres, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Even though the peak popularity of Rock Band has passed, I still find myself wishing I could play it regularly.
