As a huge fan of action shows, I’ve always loved Power Rangers. It’s one of the originals and still so popular! It actually started as a Japanese show called Super Sentai, but Power Rangers really made it its own. Over the years, we’ve seen so many amazing Rangers control that awesome morphin grid, and some of them are just legendary – their impact on the show is something I’ll never forget.
Flynn McAllistair and Jason Lee Scott are often seen as the perfect Power Rangers, and while others have achieved great things, very few are as well-respected. Only a small number of Rangers truly stand out as the very best, and they’ll be remembered throughout the series’ history.
10. Flynn McAllistair Is a Fan-Favorite Blue Ranger

Flynn McAllistair appears to be a classic, humble Blue Ranger. He’s instantly likable and would likely become a fan favorite simply because of his personality. Becoming a Ranger finally lets Flynn fulfill his lifelong dream of being a hero, and he jumps at the chance to make the most of it.
McAllistair plays multiple past Blue Rangers and is the main person who keeps the Power Rangers RPM Gear running and updated. He’s a memorable character, and a big part of that is his accent. The way he delivers his lines, with its distinctive sound, has made him a popular online joke recently, and has also brought some older fans back to the show.
9. Anubis Cruger Is the Leader of S.P.D.’s Earth Command Base
Power Rangers S.P.D.
Unlike most Power Rangers seasons, Power Rangers S.P.D. features multiple Ranger teams. They all report to Anubis Cruger, who leads S.P.D.’s Earth headquarters. Cruger is a formidable leader who sometimes joins the action as the S.P.D. Shadow Ranger. As the Shadow Ranger, he’s exceptionally powerful and has one of the most visually impressive transformations in the entire series. His alien biology also makes him tougher and more resilient in combat.
Cruger is one of the most skilled strategists and fighters in the series. It’s easy to see why he earned the position of commander at the S.P.D. Earth Base once he gets involved in the action. While some of his students eventually become even better than him, this doesn’t happen until he’s promoted to Supreme S.P.D. Commander – a well-deserved advancement, particularly considering his key role in defeating Emperor Gruumm. He did receive the popular S.P.D. SWAT upgrade, but only as a collectible toy.
8. Zayto Has the Most Roles out of Any Ranger
Power Rangers Dino Fury
Zayto has quickly become a significant Ranger, playing a crucial role in guiding the newest team to victory. He demonstrates great foresight by choosing Amelia to take his place. Even after giving up the role of Cosmic Red Ranger, Zayto remains a hands-on supporter and eventually becomes a Morphin Master, continuing to aid the team in a new capacity.
The Morphin Masters are powerful beings who have always been a part of the Power Rangers’ history, even though they were only recently revealed. As protectors of the Morphing Grid, it’s fitting that Zayto became one of them after he died. He gave his life to save the universe and continues to help the Power Rangers, something even the legendary Tommy Oliver hasn’t done.
7. Taylor Earhardt is the Only Yellow Ranger to Lead the Team
Power Rangers: Wild Force
Image via Saban Unlike most Power Rangers seasons, Wild Force began with the team already having a shared past. Before Cole Evans became the Red Ranger, Taylor Earhardt held that position. She’s unique as the only Yellow Ranger to ever lead the team, which is considered a high honor for anyone not designated as the Red Ranger. Some fans even wished she had remained the leader when Cole joined.
Taylor’s military experience makes her incredibly capable and skilled. She actually wrote the official training manual for Rangers and is considered one of the best second-in-commands in the series’ history. While she can be tough, her strictness often motivates her team to succeed. Even outside of being a Power Ranger, Taylor would probably be dedicated to helping and saving people.
6. Billy Cranston Consistently Helps Out the Rangers Even When He Isn’t Morphed
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Billy Cranston is considered one of the most intelligent Power Rangers ever. He has an exceptional understanding of the Morphing Grid and a knack for modifying Zords and technology, often improving alien designs better than other mechanically-gifted Rangers. While he doesn’t fight as a Zeo Ranger, he provides essential support to Zordon and Alpha 5. Even though he wasn’t a Ranger for very long, Billy remains a memorable and iconic Blue Ranger.
Billy was essential to the success of the Power Rangers, and many consider him a hidden hero of the series. While not as physically powerful as characters like Jason or Tommy, his contributions were equally important. David Yost, who played Billy, recently reprised his role as the Blue Ranger in a special episode alongside other original cast members. Unfortunately, Yost left the show due to mistreatment from his fellow actors.
5. T.J. Johnson Knows When to Lead and When to Follow
Power Rangers: Turbo
T.J. Johnson is a great example of a strong team player who understands when to take charge and when to support others. He initially stepped up as the Red Ranger after Tommy Oliver, chosen by Oliver himself to lead the Power Rangers. Later, T.J. willingly let Andros take the lead, becoming the Space Blue Ranger instead. He excelled in both positions, demonstrating that leadership isn’t the only way to contribute to a team’s success.
Like many beloved Rangers from the original series, Johnson frequently appears in newer installments. He participated in the ‘Legendary War’ storyline and has even been seen in recent reboots. While he usually appears as the Blue Space Ranger, he sometimes shows up as the Turbo Red Ranger as well.
4. Jen Scotts Is Often Called the Best Pink Ranger of All Time
Power Rangers: Time Force
Jen Scotts from Power Rangers Time Force is widely considered the most popular Pink Ranger ever. After the first Time Force Red Ranger seemingly died, she stepped up to lead the team. Jen is a very logical and precise thinker, always knowing the best course of action. She successfully worked with Wes Collins when he became the new Red Ranger, ultimately guiding the team to victory.
Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger, is widely considered one of the most skilled. She’s an excellent shooter and consistently prioritizes the team’s success. She even bravely opposes a former romantic partner when he becomes a threat. Though she hasn’t appeared in many series beyond her own, her lasting impact makes her a memorable figure in the Power Rangers franchise.
3. Wes Collins Faces Much More Mature Themes Than the Average Ranger
Power Rangers: Time Force
Wes Collins, the Red Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force, is a fan favorite throughout the entire Power Rangers series. This is mainly due to the show’s more mature themes and the complex relationships his character experienced. He also boasts one of the most impressive Battlizers ever seen. Even though he sometimes doubted himself, Wes always trusted his team and excelled as the leader of the Time Force.
As a lifelong Power Rangers fan, I’ve noticed that Eric Myers, the Time Force Red Ranger, hasn’t gotten as many reboots or remakes as some of the other popular Rangers. I think that’s probably because his series dealt with some more grown-up themes. A lot of younger viewers might not have even been able to watch Power Rangers Time Force when it originally aired. But for many of us older fans, he’s definitely a favorite, and honestly, one of the best Red Rangers the franchise has ever seen. I’m really hoping the actor gets a chance to appear in whatever big reboot they do next!
2. Jason Lee Scott is the Original Red Ranger
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
Jason Lee Scott is widely considered the original Red Ranger and often the first Power Ranger that comes to mind for many fans. Many believe he’s the greatest Ranger ever, and it’s hard to argue with that. He had impressive abilities for his time, and when he stepped down, the next Red Ranger didn’t take the leadership role, likely to preserve Jason’s legacy.
Scott returned as the Zeo Gold Ranger and continued to appear in the series until the Ranger powers permanently injured him. He’s made several brief appearances since then, both in and out of costume. There’s a chance Jason could have a significant role in the upcoming reboot or the rumored 2026 Mighty Morphin project, but unfortunately, there haven’t been many updates about that project since the initial rumors surfaced.
1. Tommy Oliver Is the Longest Serving Power Ranger
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
Tommy Oliver is a true Power Rangers legend. He’s been a Ranger longer than anyone, wielded more different Ranger powers, and even managed to kick a dinosaur while in his normal clothes! It’s hard to argue that he isn’t the most iconic Ranger of all time. Although he started as a villain, he’s more than earned his place as a hero through countless brave deeds.
Tommy Oliver is a Power Rangers legend, having served as the Green, White, Red Zeo, Turbo, and Black Dino Thunder Rangers. He’s shown incredible skill with the morphing grid and has been part of some of the most iconic fights and transformations in the show’s history. While some fans question his overall impact due to his appearances later in the series, Tommy was crucial to the Power Rangers’ early success. Many believe the original series wouldn’t have lasted beyond the first season without him.
