After nearly ten years in development, Escape from Tarkov is finally releasing its full, official version. The game started as an early alpha test in 2016, then moved to a beta phase in 2017, where it remained for years. Now, on November 15th, Escape from Tarkov 1.0 will launch, including a new release and its first-ever availability on Steam.
As a huge fan of Escape from Tarkov, I was thrilled to hear that Nikita Buyanov, the head of Battlestate Games, announced the game has officially gone gold! That means it’s finished and ready for launch – it’s been a long wait, and I can’t wait to finally play the completed version!
Escape from Tarkov is Finally Ready to Go
In a post on social media, the ever-prolific mind behind Escape from Tarkov, Nikita, said:
Okay, so huge news! Escape from Tarkov is officially gold! That means development is completely done – they’ve finished making the game, and we’re now in the final stretch before it fully releases. Seriously, after years of the team working hard, testing everything, and polishing it up, the game we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. I can’t wait to jump in!
This anniversary is about more than just a date; it represents our shared journey with all of you. We’re so grateful for your incredible support and feedback over the past 10 years. Your ideas have been essential in making the game what it is today.
For me personally, this is the most important and significant moment in my life.

Nikita Buyanov recently shared updates on Escape from Tarkov, confirming that development of the first downloadable content (DLC) is underway and that they’re also exploring a console version of the game.
