In the initial expansion for the popular fighting game Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, over ten fresh characters will be introduced, significantly expanding the existing playable roster. The DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is set to debut on January 23, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms, with early access starting on January 20.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has proven to be a resounding success for Bandai Namco, particularly among fans of the Dragon Ball franchise. Launched towards the end of 2024, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero not only set new sales records for Dragon Ball games but also ranked as one of the top-selling titles of that year. To maintain this level of success, Bandai Namco intends to provide the game with additional content, such as new playable characters and revisiting iconic battles from the franchise’s past. Furthermore, the game will be updated regularly via patches and improvements to address fan concerns regarding the game’s online performance and the persistent problem of match-quitting in competitive play.

Recently, Bandai Namco has unveiled additional information about the first expansion for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, officially known as the “Hero of Justice” DLC. As previously hinted in the roadmap for the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC, this pack introduces characters from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film, such as Androids Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, as well as Cell Max. Various versions of Gohan and Piccolo are also included, with each version (Gohan – Super Hero, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, Ultimate Gohan, Beast Gohan, Piccolo – Super Hero, Orange Piccolo, and Piccolo – Potential Unlocked) being treated as distinct characters. The expansion even features the giant-sized version of Orange Piccolo that battled the colossal Cell Max in the movie.

The trailer highlights the fresh playable characters executing their iconic maneuvers and dialogues, reenacting scenes from the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero storyline. Additionally, the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Justice Hero Pack DLC offers three custom battles, hinted at being an Android fighters battle, a face-off between Gohan and Goku, and a massive clash with Cell Max. Those who buy the pack will be able to use Piccolo’s Red Ribbon Army disguise in the game, which he uses to infiltrate the evil organization in the movie.

The additional content called “Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero” DLC is part of the “Sparking Zero” Season Pass. This pass not only gives you early access to characters from the Hero of Justice pack 3 days before general release, but also grants access to two more DLC packs due out in the first half of 2025. These upcoming packs will introduce characters from “Dragon Ball: Daima” to the game, with Glorio and Mini Vegeta confirmed for the second DLC pack.
