I’ll be upfront: I was skeptical about Battlefield 6 before it came out. But it’s really surprised me – I keep finding myself returning to it even when I have other games to play. I’m a big fan of first-person shooters, and the Battlefield series in general, but I’m usually quite critical. However, Battlefield 6 gets everything right for me. It’s full of action without being excessive, the maps are diverse and well-designed, the guns feel good to use, and the large-scale Conquest matches are incredibly engaging without becoming repetitive.
I really enjoy many aspects of Battlefield 6, but I miss a feature from Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5: animations for getting into vehicles. While the community has discussed them in the past, these animations really enhance the gameplay experience, and their absence in Battlefield 6 is noticeable.
Why Vehicles in Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 Hit Harder
It might seem minor, but the absence of animations when getting in and out of vehicles actually detracts from the game experience. These animations contribute to the pacing and immersion, making matches feel more realistic instead of like you’re simply teleporting into a tank. Honestly, quickly appearing and disappearing breaks the flow of the game. While the game generally feels realistic, adding these animations would make it even more immersive. Previous Battlefield games, like Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5, prioritized realism in vehicle entry and exit, which not only feels better but also creates a more balanced gameplay experience.
Adding realistic animations for getting in and out of vehicles prevents players from quickly jumping in to dodge attacks. Games like Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 handled this well, creating a more consistent experience and forcing players to carefully time their movements. This adds a layer of strategy, as the animations naturally slow things down, leading to more intense and exciting gameplay. These animations don’t just improve how vehicles look in Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5; they make getting into them feel more impactful. Recent choices in Battlefield 6 have been debated, and removing vehicle entry animations would be a mistake, as it would make the game feel less immersive and strategic.

Battlefield 6’s Vehicle Immersion Can Still Be Saved
The lack of vehicle animations when Battlefield 6 first came out doesn’t mean they can’t be added later. Creating those animations is challenging, and while they’d be a welcome improvement, they aren’t essential. I’ve still enjoyed many hours with the game despite their absence, but I do wish they were included. Overall, Battlefield 6 is one of the best installments in years, and a few extra details like this could make it even better.
Imagine getting behind the wheel of vehicles like the Panthera KHT, Cheetah 1A2, or F-39E in Battlefield 6 – it would be incredibly immersive! Being able to move around inside, switch positions, and fully control these vehicles would elevate the gameplay. It’s not just about adding fun features; it would make the first-person experience feel much more realistic and engaging.
