13 Classic Marvel Games Are Coming to Consoles and PC in 2026

Marvel Games, Limited Run Games, and Konami are teaming up to release Marvel MaXimum Collection, a compilation of 13 classic Marvel games. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2026, the collection features games originally released on NES, SNES, and in arcades. So far, 6 of the 13 titles have been announced. Players can look forward to updated features, a museum showcasing the games’ history, and even cheat menus.

Old-school Marvel games are incredibly popular again. Recent hits like Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics have reintroduced classics such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to a new generation. The 2025 game Marvel Cosmic Invasion offered a fresh take on the beat-’em-up style, building on the foundation laid by games in the Marvel MaXimum Collection. 2026 promises to be another big year for Marvel fans, with Marvel’s Wolverine launching in September, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls arriving in August, and the Marvel MaXimum Collection also coming to consoles and PC later in the year.

Marvel MaXimum Collection is Bringing 13 Classic Games to Modern Platforms

The new Marvel Maximum Collection was announced with a preview of gameplay from six of the games it will include. While Limited Run Games hasn’t shared the complete list of titles yet, here are the games currently confirmed for the collection:

  • X-Men: The Arcade Game — Arcade
  • Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge — Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Gear
  • Captain America and the Avengers — Arcade, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, NES
  • Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage — Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive
  • Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety — Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive
  • Silver Surfer — NES

This collection highlights classic Marvel games from the 16-bit era. It features arcade favorites like X-Men: The Arcade Game and Captain America and the Avengers, alongside home console titles such as Silver Surfer on NES and Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage for SNES. These games are some of the most enjoyable superhero beat ’em ups from the 1990s, and many haven’t been widely available recently.
