In the footsteps of Star Wars: Fallen Order, I find myself immersed in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a game that carries on the Dark Souls-inspired journey through a galaxy far, far away. This is most evident in its formidable enemy design. As Cal Kestis, I’ve come across many challenging adversaries in my fight against the Empire. Yet, none are as lethal as the bosses.
In Jedi: Survivor, you’ll encounter numerous formidable foes that truly stand out. Ranging from bounty hunters to Sith Lords, these adversaries come equipped with a variety of skills that players must strategize against. Interestingly, all these enemies challenge Cal Kestis’ abilities to their limit.
12. The Massiff
An Overpowered MagnaGuard That Posses A Challenge
- Found: In Koboh, on the crashed Lucrehulk
As a devoted Star Wars fan, I’ve encountered the MagnaGuards in the galaxy for quite some time now. Despite their menacing presence, many Jedi have managed to swiftly handle them with relative ease. However, in the thrilling new adventure of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we’ll be squaring off against a formidable foe – The Massiff. This MagnaGuard variant seems to have undergone significant upgrades, boasting swift and powerful moves that can prove challenging to dodge at times.
To put it simply, compared to other adversaries in the game, The Massiff is not particularly difficult to overcome. With a reasonable level of ability, you should be able to handle it without much trouble.
11. Urgost, Fist Of Rayvis
The Bedlam Raiders’ Strongest Melee Fighter
- Found: In Koboh Observatory during Cal’s fourth visit to Kobo
Urgost, a formidable close-combat warrior, received personal training from Rayvis on wielding the massive electrohammer. Upon Cal’s arrival at Koboh Observatory’s summit, he encounters this battle-hardened combatant, trading insults and jibes while engaging in combat simultaneously.
His hammer strikes with great force yet moves slowly, allowing opponents a good opportunity to inflict damage on him. Timing parries against his attacks is also beneficial due to the predictable pace of the electrohammer. Some players have discovered that Urgost can be swiftly defeated by lifting him with Force Lift and then pushing him off the Observatory using Force Push, sending him plummeting to the planet’s surface below.
10. The Mire Terror
Cal Must Fight Two Mogu At Once
- Found: In the Viscid Bog on Koboh
When Cal eventually locates the titan known as Mogu, it’s evident that he had previously defeated numerous similar beings. These colossal, upright creatures bear a strong resemblance to the wampa, the icy beast that almost claimed the life of Luke Skywalker.
In the swampy realm of Koboh, The Mire Terror is unrivaled in its strength and durability among all mogu, striking harder and towering taller than any other. What sets this encounter apart from others is the presence of a secondary Mogu combatant joining forces with it on the compact platform suspended above the bog. Facing down two melee-centric enemies simultaneously can be quite challenging, thus it’s recommended for players to employ the Mind Trick ability on the smaller mogu to gain an edge in this intense battle.
9. Skriton
A Deadly Beast With Swift Attacks
- Found: In Jedha
In much the same way as its predecessor, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor immerses players in a challenging universe where they encounter overwhelming adversaries, formidable bosses, and menacing creatures that inhabit diverse planets Cal and his team explore. Just like Jedha, these locales are fraught with hazards, some of which demand evasive maneuvers rather than head-on confrontation, achieved by skillfully navigating through a variety of structures using parkour techniques.
As I navigate through the rugged terrain of Jedha, one creature that stands out as particularly dangerous is the Skriton – a colossal scorpion-like beast with an anger that’s unmatched. Though it may not be the toughest boss in the game, dealing with the Skriton can be quite a challenge. Its rapid attacks and the sheer force behind each strike make it a formidable foe, leaving me little room for error.
8. Spawn Of Oggdo
The Notorious Jedi: Fallen Order Boss Returns
- Found: In Fort Kah’lin on Koboh
As a passionate fan of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order series, I was among those who felt the sting of challenge when facing off against the colossal three-eyed frog boss, Oggdo Bogdo. The relief was palpable when Cal Kestis didn’t revisit Bogano, the place where that monstrous creature resided. However, to our dismay, news broke out that this amphibious adversary makes a comeback as an optional boss in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Adventurers locate the ‘Spawn of Oggdo’ within Fort Kah’lin, where they descend into a chamber to confront the massive amphibian once more. Its erratic and lethal assaults make it a formidable adversary, and players must employ swift attacks, remaining ready to block, parry or evade as necessary.
7. The Rancor
One Of The Most Recognizable And Deadly Star Wars Beasts
- Found : In Sodden Grotto on Koboh
As a devoted fan, I’ve always been captivated by the array of intriguing creatures in the Star Wars universe, but none have left such an indelible impression as the formidable Rancor. Even knowing that a Rancor on Tatooine nearly bested Luke Skywalker, the tension mounts when I encounter one of these beasts lurking within the caverns beneath Koboh. The challenge is palpable!
Though it may take time for its assaults to land, the damage inflicted is immense. It’s capable of snatching Cal in an instant, ending his life on the spot, making it crucial for players to grasp the move’s pattern swiftly, so they can dodge it at all costs. Its robust, armored physique further enhances its durability, turning this battle into a lengthy one. Evading its attacks and gradually reducing its health is undeniably a formidable challenge befitting a Jedi.
6. Caij
Fast-Moving Bounty Hunter With Devastating Attacks
- Found: At the Devastated Settlement after finishing the bounty board
Caij, who mimics Kit Fisto’s style but lacks his physical presence, is well aware of this fact. Instead of standing her ground in the battlefield, she prefers to dart around the arena’s periphery, firing rapid volleys and precise sniper shots. Her opponents must possess exceptional deflecting skills if they wish to approach her. Even then, she carries a reserve stock of missiles as a fallback plan. A direct hit from these projectiles can disintegrate Cal in an instant. Players should ensure they have sufficient Force energy on hand to counteract this threat.
They should also wish they possess the quick reactions to keep ahead of everything else. Only when they conquer all these obstacles can they land a few close-combat strikes. Suddenly, Caij jumps out of reach. Then, they need to repeat the entire process again. Essentially, it’s like teasing a dog with a treat, making it nearly impossible for them to win.
5. Kle-0, Masi Finau, & Fenn Finau
Three Versus One
- Found: In Nova Garon’s Hangar Bay
Engaging in a triple tussle with bounty hunters isn’t a walk in the park for this gamer, Cal. I’ve squared off against plenty of solo bounty hunters since my departure from Bracca, but these guys have got me thinking twice about my next move – they’re clearly working as a team, and that’s a force to be reckoned with in the gaming world.
The adversaries pose a formidable test as they simultaneously attack from various angles. One assailant hides behind a barrier and launches attacks; another deploys bursts of gunfire and explosives from above; the third is a tough, punching robot. Cal must constantly dodge incoming attacks from his opponents to avoid getting hit by their comrades. Gamers should remain vigilant and always be aware of the positions of the three bounty hunters so they are not taken off guard by unexpected assaults that might come from unseen locations.
4. Rayvis
This Warrior Has Only Been Defeated One Time
- Found: On Shattered Moon, the boss fight at the end of the 2nd visit
Initially, Rayvis appears as an ordinary heavy combatant. He delivers powerful blows, yet they’re sluggish and can be effortlessly dodged. Even when he wields his mace as a flail, his area-of-effect attacks can be easily evaded with basic maneuvers. However, these initial impressions barely scratch the surface of his real might.
In the second phase of the fight, Rayvis experiences a surge in speed without sacrificing his power. He swings his mace in extended combos that are harder to evade due to him being magnetically attracted to Cal. On infrequent instances when the hero manages to create some space, Rayvis retaliates with quick bursts of blaster fire. This, along with enough damage to deplete one’s health, makes fighting Rayvis equivalent to facing a relentless freight train.
3. Dagan Gera
A Long Fight Against A High Republic Jedi
- Found: Forest Array first, Lucrehulk second, and Koboh Observatory for the final showdown
The prolonged nature of this battle makes it particularly challenging. Dagan’s formidable double-bladed lightsaber provides him with an unyielding defense. To inflict substantial harm, players must persistently whittle away at this defense. However, they will be taken aback by how insignificant the damage they inflict appears to be.
Each hit merely depletes a tiny percentage of their vitality. Since there’s no method to speed up this process, the only strategy is persistence – hitting them repeatedly while avoiding counterattacks. Consequently, it transforms from a conventional battle into an endurance test of outlasting the opponent. In a game where one wrong move could lead to defeat, it’s not simple. This makes the repeated attempts after a grueling fight all the more demoralizing.
2. Darth Vader
Star Wars’ Most Iconic Villain Puts Up A Tough Fight
- Found: On Jedha during Cal’s third visit
It makes sense that the most legendary antagonist from Star Wars, Vader, would prove to be a formidable opponent. While his defenses are stronger, they can still be breached with effort. However, causing harm to him barely registers as damage, which is likely due to the mechanical aspect of his being. Despite this, he remains undeterred in his relentless pursuit.
The Sith Lord exhibits a far more aggressive approach compared to Dagan. Unlike waiting for an opportunity to counterattack, he pursues opponents across the battlefield and strikes when the moment presents itself. Players need to be agile, vigilant, and maintain a steady offensive strategy, all while avoiding his relentless assaults. It’s hardly surprising that Cere often finds herself at a disadvantage. However, Vader isn’t necessarily the most formidable adversary in the game of Jedi: Survivor.
1. Bode
A Versatile Fighter With Many Quick Attacks
- Found: On Tanalorr, the final boss fight of the game
At the game’s conclusion, a friend who was once trustworthy for Cal transforms into his most formidable adversary in an unfortunate turn of events.
Bode compensates for his deficiency in Jedi abilities by showcasing versatility. He engages opponents with his lightsaber but also wields blasters, snipers, explosives, and Force powers. Due to the quick succession in which he switches between these weapons, players must have exceptional reflexes to dodge them. Admittedly, they gain some respite when Merrin is around as an ally, but this relief is short-lived, as she often disappears in an attempt to execute a stealth attack.
In this scenario, Cal is faced with confronting Bode solo. Not only does he need to endure constant attacks, but he must also land hits occasionally. His strikes can cause severe damage compared to other bosses, yet he provides fewer opportunities for inflicting that damage. Essentially, all his efforts are spent on avoiding defeat rather than attacking.
