15 Xbox Game Pass Games You Can Play Right Now Were Nominated at The Game Awards

This year’s Game Awards featured 71 nominated games, and a great number of them – 15 to be exact – are already playable with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Even with the recent price increase to $29.99 a month, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate still offers excellent value. Subscribers get access to a huge library of games, including both older favorites and brand-new titles on the day they’re released.

Honestly, 2025 was incredible for Game Pass. Yeah, the price increase for Ultimate stung a little, but the games they added more than made up for it. We’re talking absolute gems – indie titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, alongside huge releases like Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4. It was just a non-stop stream of awesome games, and it really shows – fifteen Game Pass titles got nominated at The Game Awards! Seriously, a fantastic year for the service.

Two games competing for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025 – Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Hollow Knight: Silksong – are both available to play with Xbox Game Pass. Expedition 33 is particularly noteworthy, receiving a record-breaking 13 nominations at the event and being available on Game Pass Ultimate since its launch. Several other Game Pass titles also earned nominations, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (released in 2024), Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, South of Midnight, Ball x Pit, Blue Prince, No Man’s Sky, Doom: The Dark Ages, Ninja Gaiden 4, Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, The Alters, Rematch, and Atomfall.

I’m pretty sure we’ll see even more games added to Game Pass Ultimate soon. We’ve already gotten a ton of Ubisoft titles, so I’m betting Assassin’s Creed Shadows will show up eventually. Plus, all of EA’s games are heading to Game Pass Ultimate at some point, which means we can probably look forward to EA Sports FC 26, F1 25, and even the next Battlefield – hopefully Battlefield 6 – being available. It’s looking good for Game Pass subscribers!

Several games published by Xbox received nominations for The Game Awards 2025, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, South of Midnight, Doom: The Dark Ages, Ninja Gaiden 4, Avowed, and The Outer Worlds 2. While none of these titles were nominated for the top prize, Game of the Year, Xbox still had a strong showing at the event.

We’re getting a clearer picture of the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2026, and it’s shaping up to be a great year! While we don’t have exact release dates yet, we know subscribers can look forward to titles like Forza Horizon 6, a remake of the original Halo, Gears of War: E-Day, and the highly anticipated Fable reboot. To keep you busy until then, you can enjoy the best Game Pass games from 2025.
