He’s now finding it difficult to buy and play games as he used to, and has to go through a complicated process to continue using his original account.

Sony prevents PlayStation users from updating the region associated with their accounts. This creates problems for people who move to a new country, as they can’t use local payment methods. Players have found workarounds, like purchasing gift cards from their original country or creating a new account in their current location to buy game add-ons. However, these solutions are inconvenient, particularly since other gaming platforms allow region changes without hassle.
The only other solution, sometimes recommended by Sony, is to delete the player’s account. After a 30-day waiting period, they can create a new one using the same email address. However, this means losing all previous game history and purchases, which most players understandably want to avoid.
