Two games, 1348 Ex Voto and Nickelodeon Splat Pack, which were recently cancelled on Xbox, will still be released on other gaming consoles. These cancellations come amid ongoing conversations about the future of Xbox and may fuel further discussion among gamers.
Fans are increasingly frustrated by game cancellations, which seem to be happening more and more often. Just this January, Ubisoft’s stock price dropped after they announced they were canceling six games, including a planned remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. While two games were pulled from Xbox’s release schedule, they are still planned for release on other gaming systems.
Two Games Are Canceled for Xbox, But Will Still Launch on Other Platforms
- 1348 Ex Voto
- Nickelodeon Splat Pack
Xbox fans won’t be able to play two games originally planned for Xbox Series X|S: 1348 Ex Voto and Nickelodeon Splat Pack. Both will now only be released on other platforms. Just last week, it was announced that the medieval action-adventure game 1348 Ex Voto will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, despite earlier plans to release it on Xbox. The developer, Sedleo, explained they’re focusing on PlayStation and PC to deliver the best possible experience for players, with a launch date of March 12th. While they didn’t share specific reasons for dropping Xbox, it seems they believe focusing on fewer platforms will allow them to optimize the game more effectively. Unfortunately, that means Xbox players will miss out.
The cancellation of the Xbox version’s impact on the game and console remains to be seen. The game is being developed by Sedleo, a small Italian studio of 15 experienced game developers. Founded only a few years ago, 1348 Ex Voto will be their first large-scale project. Set in a plague-ridden world, the game has already received positive early feedback, with some comparing it to the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series. Adding to the excitement, Jennifer English – who won Best Performance at The Game Awards 2025 for her work in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – is part of the game’s cast.

Originally scheduled for release on January 30th, the pack includes a video game version of the GUTS competition, as well as games based on AAAHH!!! Real Monsters and Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day. The publisher, Limited Run Games, announced that while an Xbox Series X|S version was planned, the Nickelodeon Splat Pack will now only be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam). The reason for canceling the Xbox version hasn’t been officially stated, and the news came just days before the game’s release on other platforms, which may surprise some players.
Xbox has canceled several games recently, and many of these decisions came from within Microsoft itself. Over the summer of 2025, both Everwild from Rare and the reboot of Perfect Dark were scrapped. These cancellations happened alongside layoffs at studios owned by Microsoft, and the complete closure of The Initiative, the studio developing the new Perfect Dark.
