2XKO has released a trailer showcasing Akali, the latest character joining the game on April 7th. This fighting game, based on League of Legends, includes popular champions from the original game like Jinx, Blitzcrank, and Teemo. 2XKO starts with six playable champions, and players can unlock more using Champion Tokens or KO Points. The developers have also announced the first two champions that will be added after the game officially launches.
Riot Games has announced Akali and Senna as the first playable characters added to 2XKO after its launch, offering players diverse ways to play. Akali is designed for players who like to aggressively rush down opponents with quick attacks and nimble movement, using her ninja skills. Senna, conversely, will appeal to those who prefer to keep their distance, focusing on strategic positioning and long-range attacks. Riot has now shared gameplay footage of Akali, showcasing her full abilities and techniques.
2XKO Reveals Akali is Debuting on April 7
On March 31st, 2XKO released a trailer showing Akali in action. The trailer highlights her quick and dynamic fighting style, featuring impressive combos with kicks and kunai that quickly defeat opponents. It also hints at a smoke bomb ability similar to her Twilight Shroud, allowing her to evade attacks and get close to enemies. The trailer showcases her Ultimate, a powerful attack where she slashes through opponents with a rising cloud of smoke. Finally, the trailer’s description confirmed that Akali will be available to play on April 7th.
The way Akali is designed in 2XKO clearly draws inspiration from her original look in League of Legends. Many of her attacks involve throwing kunai, similar to her ‘Five Point Strike’ ability. She also uses quick dashes in combat, likely referencing her powerful ultimate, ‘Perfect Execution’, which lets her rapidly move through enemies. Players can also expect an alternate costume for Akali, based on one of her popular skins from League of Legends, though details haven’t been announced yet.
Fans of 2XKO should be excited about the addition of Akali, as the game has faced challenges since its release. Just weeks after launch, Riot Games reduced the game’s development team, stating it wasn’t performing as well as they’d hoped. The League of Legends fighting game has also received criticism for the high cost of its cosmetic items; some bundles are priced at $100, and even smaller items like animated Finishers can cost up to $15, leading to fan complaints.
Beyond the recent launch of Akali, the developers of 2XKO have shared some exciting plans for the game’s future. A major goal for 2026 is to introduce Duo Play, allowing players to team up for online matches with a local co-op mode on the same device. They also confirmed they’ll continue to design Champions that are accessible to beginners but offer a high skill ceiling for dedicated players. With ongoing improvements and new Champions planned, 2XKO is set for continued growth and development.
