3 Hours of Until Dawn Remake Gameplay Leaks Online

As a seasoned gamer with over 30 years of gaming experience under my belt, I find myself both intrigued and disheartened by the leaked footage of Until Dawn’s remake. On one hand, it’s great to see a classic horror game getting an upgrade with modern graphics and DualSense features. However, the fact that they haven’t expanded the story or improved the gameplay mechanics beyond what’s already available in the original game leaves me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Prior to its scheduled launch on October 4, 2024, a three-hour sneak peek of the remade version of “Until Dawn” has been illegally distributed online, offering early access to eager gamers.

During a live broadcast on October 1st, Twitch streamer Nikolai7PT inadvertently shared approximately three hours of gameplay from the upcoming remake of Until Dawn. The recording of this event can still be viewed on his streaming channel.

As expected, the VOD was soon posted to the /r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, where the game was criticized for being full-priced. User /u/BARD3NGUNN said, “I mean if Horizon can redo all it’s graphics, add in Duelsense features, and rerecord over 10hrs of motion capture to bring cutscenes upto modern standards and charge $10 to existing players, then realistically Until Dawn should have done the same.”

He went on to say, “The game is fantastic, but this remaster doesn’t offer much in terms of enhancing the gameplay due to the constraints of its genre. There’s no new storyline either, making it feel like you’re playing an upgraded movie. It’s being launched alongside games such as Silent Hill, Dragon Ball, and Metaphor (all priced similarly). Selling it is quite a challenge.

In September, Ballistic Moon Studios, responsible for the Until Dawn Remake, revealed that they had undergone a series of job cuts, impacting a certain number of team members. The specific number of affected employees was not disclosed.

Currently, there’s a movie adaptation under development for Until Dawn, spearheaded by PlayStation Productions and Sony’s Screen Gems. It appears that they are just starting out with the production process.
