We only have three Xbox Game Pass recommendations this week, and that’s by design. Not every week needs a ton of options! Sometimes, it’s good to slow down and choose carefully, especially as fall arrives and life gets busier. One of these games is actually three games in one – a whole season’s worth of content. The other two offer very different experiences: one lets you build and experience the daily lives of virtual characters, while the other is a challenging survival game. Together, these three games offer both grand adventures and personal stories, letting you choose how you want to play.
This week’s game recommendations aren’t about having a lot of different options, but about really getting lost in a few great games. Each of these titles offers hours of immersive gameplay, whether it’s through stories with multiple paths, epic family sagas, or challenging survival experiences. Xbox Game Pass shines when it offers a diverse selection, and this week’s picks demonstrate that perfectly: three games, three unique worlds, and tons of ways to play.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
I honestly can’t recommend Mass Effect Legendary Edition enough if you’re looking for a game to really get lost in. The story is just incredible – one of the best I’ve ever experienced, and it’s included with Game Pass, which is amazing! This remastered trilogy lets you either revisit a classic or, like me, discover a truly phenomenal sci-fi RPG series. Over the course of three games, you get to build these deep connections with characters, grapple with some really tough choices, and try to save the entire galaxy from a seemingly unbeatable enemy. It’s an unforgettable journey.

As a huge film and game enthusiast, I’m really excited about this remaster. It’s not just about putting all the *Mass Effect* games together; they’ve genuinely made them better. The graphics are sharper, everything runs smoother, and they’ve added little improvements that make the whole experience much more user-friendly, especially for the original game. What I love most is that your choices actually matter across all three games – you really get to shape Commander Shepard’s story. Honestly, it’s the perfect series to get completely lost in, whether you play it all in one go or spread it out over a few months. And if you haven’t played *Mass Effect* before? Lucky you – I’m seriously envious, because it’s one of those franchises I wish I could experience with fresh eyes all over again.
The Sims 4: EA Play Edition

Sometimes, after tackling huge problems, it’s nice to focus on the smaller stuff. That’s where *The Sims 4* comes in. With the EA Play version available on Game Pass, you get the main game and the Get to Work expansion, letting you build families, design houses, and create all sorts of everyday drama.

Want to create elaborate homes with pools, build a family history, or maybe just create some chaotic (and funny) situations for your Sims? *The Sims 4* is all about setting up the world and then seeing what happens – whether it’s delightfully heartwarming or hilariously disastrous. It’s a unique way to tell stories, focusing on managing interesting households, memorable neighbors, and even the odd llama, rather than following a set path.
Rain World

Looking for a challenging platformer on Game Pass while waiting for *Silksong*? *Rain World* delivers a unique and brutal survival experience. You’ll play as a fragile slugcat, trying to survive in a dangerous world where every choice is crucial. Finding food is tough, enemies are aggressive, and even the weather will try to stop you.

Rain World is a strikingly beautiful but incredibly challenging game. Even small accomplishments – like finding a safe place to rest, avoiding danger, or just making it through the day – feel like huge wins. The creatures in the game aren’t scripted; they use a smart AI system to act in unpredictable ways, so every time you play feels new and tests your skills. It’s definitely not an easy game, but if you’re up for the challenge, it’s one of the most satisfying games added to Game Pass recently.
