This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
The popular manga and anime series One Piece is nearing its conclusion, and fans are excited because this final arc is the most crucial part of the entire story. Creator Eiichiro Oda has been planning this part for years, and it’s finally unfolding. He’s expected to reveal long-held secrets about the One Piece world, introduce the most powerful characters, and even expand on the mythology by showcasing more god-like figures, something he’s begun to do in the Elbaf arc.
Three years ago, the creator of One Piece, Oda, introduced the Sun God Nika, who was the first deity featured in the series. Initially hinted at during the Skypiea arc, Nika has become a key element of the story. Now, in the Elbaf arc, an even greater threat has emerged: Imu. Oda has officially confirmed that Imu isn’t just a Celestial Dragon claiming to be a god, but possesses genuine divine power, making them a true god.
Oda Has Finally Revealed Imu’s God Power In One Piece’s Elbaf Arc
Imu is a key figure in the upcoming Elbaf arc of One Piece, and the author, Oda, has now revealed their abilities. Fans didn’t anticipate Imu’s appearance when the Holy Knights went to Elbaf, especially as another obstacle for the Straw Hats. However, that’s exactly what happened: Imu possessed Gunko and used what appears to be divine power through her.

Imu’s ability centers around creating unbreakable contracts with people. They mark these individuals with a unique seal, like the Abyss mark, effectively enslaving them and even gaining control of their bodies. Beyond this, powers like Domi Reversi allow Imu to turn anyone into a loyal, superpowered, and immortal slave. Imu considers this ability the “power of God,” and whether it stems from a Devil Fruit or not, it’s a truly divine and formidable power they will continue to use.
Imu Can Use An Army Of Slaves
In God Valley, Imu demonstrated incredible power, enslaving the entire Davy Clan and even Rocks D. Xebec. They’ve repeated this on Elbaf, using a power called Domi Reversi to enslave almost all of the Giants. This ability is immensely powerful, almost divine. It seems only other beings of similar power, like the Sun God Nika, can oppose Imu. As the Warrior of Liberation and the God of the Sun, Luffy is a direct match to Imu’s darkness.

More Gods Could Be Revealed In The Final Saga
Fans have noticed the powerful abilities of both Luffy and Imu, which seem to be god-like. However, the world of One Piece includes other established gods as well. Eiichiro Oda, the series creator, previously introduced deities like the Earth God, Rain God, Sea God, and Forest God. These gods were also hinted at in the Elbaf arc, appearing in the Harley and the ancient mural carved into the Adam Tree by giants.
With One Piece’s final arc unfolding, Eiichiro Oda is gradually revealing the secrets surrounding the ‘Gods’ and their importance to the story. Expect things to get increasingly intense as Oda shares more of these mysteries with fans, who are eagerly anticipating what’s to come.
One Piece, the popular manga by Eiichiro Oda, will have a break next week. A new chapter, number 1166, will be released on November 23, 2025. Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus.
