As 2025 approaches, many new players will join PlayStation Network thanks to gifts and sales, and both newcomers and longtime fans have exciting games to look forward to, including exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the award-winning Astro Bot. However, some games will soon be removed from PlayStation platforms, so if you’re interested in playing them, be sure to download them before they disappear.
As a gamer, I’ve definitely noticed it’s pretty normal for games to disappear from PlayStation Network, Xbox Game Pass, and other online stores. It seems like every month we get a bunch of new titles, but a few older ones get taken down. There are all sorts of reasons why this happens – sometimes the game’s online servers aren’t supported anymore, or maybe not enough people were buying or downloading it. Honestly, developers and publishers don’t always tell us the full story, so it can be a bit of a mystery!
4 More Games Leaving PlayStation Soon
- WWE 2K24
- NBA Live 19
- Anthem
- Super Trunko Go
Four more games—WWE 2K24, Super Trunko Go, Anthem, and NBA Live 19—are being removed from PlayStation. WWE 2K24’s online servers will be shut down, but players who own the game can still play it offline. While the server shutdown was delayed from January to March, the full game and all downloadable content will no longer be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store after January 31, 2026. If you’re interested in WWE 2K24 or its DLC, be sure to get it before the end of January.
Ugh, January’s gonna be a rough month for my digital library. EA’s pulling two games from stores for good – NBA Live 19 and Anthem. Anthem‘s servers are shutting down on the 12th, which honestly, most people expected. It had a rocky start and never really recovered. NBA Live 19 is going offline on the 30th. It never stood a chance against NBA 2K, but I kinda felt bad for the series – it was a solid game if you were a longtime fan. It’s the last NBA Live game ever, so I might grab it just for the sake of completion, but a lot of the stuff you could do in it relied on those online servers, so it won’t be the same after January.
The final game being removed from the PlayStation store is the 2023 shooter Super Trunko Go. The developer, 88 Polygons Ltd., announced the removal but didn’t explain why, simply thanking players for their support. If you want to play it, you’ll need to purchase Super Trunko Go before the end of December 2025. Good news for current owners: you’ll still be able to play the game even after it’s no longer available for purchase on the PlayStation store.
Fans are frustrated when games are removed from online platforms like PlayStation Network and Xbox Game Pass. Many believe that if developers don’t want to keep the game servers running, they should at least provide the tools and information needed for fans to maintain them, ensuring the games aren’t lost forever. As more games are likely to be removed from PlayStation in the coming months and years, and new ones added, fans are watching to see what changes 2026 brings to PSN.
