I’m completely captivated by Mushi-shi! It follows Ginko, a traveler who journeys through a secluded, almost mystical Japan, and instead of fighting monsters, he helps people who are troubled by these strange, supernatural beings called Mushi. Honestly, it’s so refreshing! You see so many anime heroes who are all about action, or driven by ambition, or just brooding and alone – think characters like Guts or Thorfinn. But Ginko is different, he’s a wandering healer, and that’s a role you just don’t see explored very often. The show really nails this vibe across its two seasons, which originally aired in the 2000s and then had a follow-up season later in the 2010s.
