Here’s a breakdown of the next update (TU3) for Monster Hunter Wilds, highlighting five major additions Capcom is making to the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds had a bit of a slow beginning, but recent updates have really improved the game. With the release of Title Update 3 just around the corner, Capcom has now shared all the details. While we already knew the featured monster – Omega Planetes – there was still a lot to learn. One key addition in this update is Pictomancy Spells, which are being added as part of a collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV.
The update includes a variety of new cosmetic items for hunters, Palicos, and Seikrets. It also introduces a new in-game season called Dreamspell, which is part of the Season of Accord.
Here’s a look at 5 key things that Capcom is adding to Monster Hunter Wilds with TU3.
5 Things Capcom Is Adding To Monster Hunter Wilds With TU3 (Title Update 3)
1) Omega Planetes
The most exciting part of Update 3 and the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration is the new monster, Omega Planetes. It fights a lot like Behemoth from Monster Hunter World. You’ll encounter Omega as part of a High Rank Assignment in the Iceshard Cliffs, making it one of the hardest monsters in the game. If you’re used to completing 9-star hunts, you’ll likely have the gear needed to defeat it.
This update, TU3, introduces just one new monster: Omega. But the fight with Omega is designed to be highly replayable, featuring special moments during the battle similar to the unique events found in hunts like Jin Dahaad and Zoh Shia. Overall, Omega is a really enjoyable addition to Monster Hunter Wilds.
2) New Armor Sets and Weapons
The Omega Planetes update introduces new armor and weapons. Based on previous Monster Hunter collaborations, this Omega gear is likely to be very strong for late-game players. The new set is inspired by the Dark Knight from Final Fantasy 14. Even if the armor’s skills aren’t top-tier, you can still use it as customizable Layered Armor.
3) New Cosmetics (FF14)
Beyond the new Omega equipment, this update includes a large number of customizable Layered Armor pieces for the Hunter, Alma, and your Palico companion. Seikrets will also be getting a new skin inspired by Chocobos with Title Update 3. Plus, the game is introducing Pictomancy, a new ability that functions similarly to the Water Gun gesture. Interestingly, Pictomancy can even be used as a substitute for traditional weapons, much like the Akuma skin allows.
4) Season of Accord – Dreamspell
Title Update 3 will introduce a new in-game event called the Season of Accord, specifically a season named Dreamspell. This event is scheduled to begin in late October and run until mid-November. Players can look forward to new Event Quests, Layered Armor, a special Seikret skin, and other rewards. It’s important to note that this Season of Accord is a separate event from the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration.
5) Arch-Tempered Nu Udra
Following tradition with the TU3 update, Capcom is introducing a new Arch-tempered Monster to the game: Black Flame, also known as Nu Udra. Because Arch-tempered gear offers incredibly powerful abilities, you’ll definitely want to challenge this monster. Arch-tempered Nu Udra will become available in late October as a permanent Event Quest.
