6 Hardest Bosses in Core Keeper

Key Takeaways

  • Ghorm the Devourer is a simple boss but seems impossible without a plan.
  • The Malugaz the Corrupted fight is a gear and preparation check.
  • Azeos the Sky Titan is a brutal boss with multiple mechanics.

As a seasoned adventurer who’s braved the wildest terrains and faced the most fearsome beasts, I must say that Omoroth in the Sunkern Sea has left me scratching my head more times than I care to remember. The restricted movement options, coupled with the monster’s devastating attacks, make this encounter a real headache.

The game titled Core Keeper offers a remarkable mining experience within a sandbox setting, boasting a superb system for monitoring advancement.

Underground, a collection of powerful supervisors resides, and though they can be challenging, they frequently let you explore beyond the Center if you manage to defeat them.

Instead of some supervisors not hesitating to push you to your limits, let us share our choices for the toughest enemies you’ll encounter within the game.

We’re about to delve into heavy spoiler territory, so read on at your own risk!

6 Ghorm the Devourer

Easy When You Know How

Key Information Details
Location Clay Caves
Summoning Item N/A
Recommended Gear Lots of Spike Traps!

I’ve chosen Ghorm as my first entry, because although he may appear manageable overall, he becomes nearly invincible if you are not well-prepared or knowledgeable about how to handle him.

Ghorm the Devourer is a colossal insect perpetually circling the Core. Thankfully, it doesn’t initiate attacks unless provoked, but if you’re not ready, it has the potential to flatten and overpower you.

To mine through walls, you’ll need to depend on your pickaxe, whereas Ghorm has the ability to swiftly crush through them, reducing you to pulp.

The boss is insurmountable without a plan. You can make quick work of this behemoth by placing 250-ish Spike Traps in its path. Unless you know about this, the encounter is an uphill struggle.

Additionally, there’s a chance you might overlook the initial main enemy (Glurch) and find yourself significantly underprepared when facing Ghorm.

5 Malugaz the Corrupted

The First Big Wall

Key Information Details
Location Forgotten Ruins
Summoning Item Skull of the Corrupted Shaman
Recommended Gear Level Iron

In the game “Core Keeper,” Malugaz serves as the third major opponent. Defeating him significantly broadens the game world. However, it should be noted that Malugaz is a formidable adversary and will not surrender easily.

In a modest stone amphitheater, you engage in combat with Malugaz who spreads fire across the ground. Given how much harm the fiery attacks inflict, this fight necessitates having a good collection of protective gear and weaponry at your disposal for the first time.

Potions prove incredibly beneficial, and this experience underscores the importance of thorough preparation and a satisfying meal.

One entertaining aspect of Malugaz is that he possesses not one but two life meters. As the battle progresses into its second stage, the boss becomes increasingly hostile. To survive, you’ll need to dodge both the flames and a massive enemy charging towards you.

You’ll be fine if you keep your distance, but the Malugaz fight is a rite of passage.

In the Early Access phase, Malugaz the Corrupted was an optional foe you could bypass completely. However, since he’s become a required battle now, he’s determined to take revenge.

4 Azeos the Sky Titan

Death From Above

Key Information Details
Location Azeos’ Wilderness
Summoning Item Large Shiny Glimmering Object
Recommended Gear Level Scarlet

Azeos the Sky Titan is a formidable adversary who relentlessly assaults players with lethal strikes and annoying powers, such as regenerative health.

In any battle, an opponent with wings isn’t likely to play by the rules, and Azeos thrives when it has the advantage. Azeos is equipped with powerful blue laser beams, which can be quite painful if you’re hit. However, luckily, this attack follows a pattern, but it might take several attempts to figure it out!

Azeos’s assaults are risky, but the most severe part is yet to unfold. The leader can generate healing crystals of blue hue, which can only be harmed with a Pickaxe. It’s quite frustrating to continuously switch weapons during an attack, and it’s demoralizing to see your efforts being reversed.

The crystals can spawn in unreachable locations, so be sure to block up any gaps in the arena before you fight.

The mighty Titan Azeos of the Skies truly embodies his lofty name, so make sure you’re equipped with top-tier Scarlet armor before attempting to face him.

3 Ra-Akar the Sand Titan

It’s Course, Rough, And Irritating

Key Information Details
Location Desert of Beginnings
Summoning Item Thumper
Recommended Gear Level Octarine

As a dedicated gamer, I must say that Core Keeper really seems to have a soft spot for creepy crawlies! One of the most challenging creatures I’ve encountered so far is none other than Ra-Akar, the Sand Titan. It’s a real beast!

In the Desert of Origin, you can summon Ra-Akar, a character who is ready for action as soon as awakened. Interestingly, Ra-Akar has the ability to dig into the sands, making itself invulnerable, but what you’ll find most concerning are its attacks.

Your supervisor has the ability to launch numerous projectiles that home in on you, making them a persistent nuisance as they closely track your movements. Even with impeccable evasion skills, Ra-Akar can summon additional forces that charge towards you and will detonate if allowed to get too near.

In addition to multiple spinning sands traps, this encounter proves quite dynamic, suggesting that it would be advantageous to use ranged weapons instead. Given the boss’s tough, spiky exterior which inflicts substantial physical damage upon contact.

Ra-Akar possesses a raw strength, yet it’s far less irritating compared to its water-dwelling counterparts, seamlessly leading us to the following topic.

2 Omoroth the Sea Titan

An Aquatic Nightmare

Key Information Details
Location Sunkern Sea
Summoning Item Expert Lure
Recommend Gear Level Octarine

I’m not ashamed to admit it; Omoroth has kicked my ass more than any other encounter in the game.

You can only fight Omoroth in the Sunkern Sea, which puts you at a massive disadvantage. Do you fight from a small boat or assemble awkward platforms in the sea and hope for the best? Neither option is attractive, so pick your poison.

In a formidable arsenal, Omoroth unleashes destructive attacks. This beast is capable of summoning whirlwinds that inflict damage, making it challenging to dodge due to limited maneuverability options.

It could be said that tentacle attacks from Omoroth are undeniably more troublesome. Omoroth has a knack for summoning tentacles in the water, and although their attacks are confined to melee, they strike with the force of a train and can pierce even the most robust armor.

If not addressed promptly, you could find yourself surrounded by swarms of tentacles and whirlwinds, which would undoubtedly make for a dismal end to your life.

To make things more challenging, you need a specialized bait, known as an Expert Lure, to lure Omoroth out initially. Crafting this lure requires a specific list of materials. If the encounter doesn’t go well, Omoroth will disappear and you’ll have to use another lure for a new attempt.

1 Core Commander

Between You And The Credits

Key Information Details
Location Desert of Beginnings
Summoning Item All six Titan Souls
Recommended Gear Level Galaxite

In this rephrased version, “The Core Commander serves as the formidable final adversary within the game, mercilessly challenging your abilities to their very limits.

Initially, the Core Commander battle consists of several stages, each introducing complex evasion strategies due to fresh attack patterns. Notably, the boss often creates rings of lightning that encircle you, leaving just a tiny opening for swift maneuvering.

Besides the immediate lightning strikes, there are additional threats that demand swift maneuvers to evade. Lightning frequently intertwines with swirling violet whirlwinds, rendering the battlefield tricky to navigate and intensely frustrating when you’re attempting to inflict damage.

After defeating the boss initially, it transforms into the Revealed Core Commander, unleashing a terrifying attack that plunges the Desert arena into complete darkness. A handful of secure zones still exist, and it’s crucial to find them immediately, as your health rapidly decreases when you linger in the dark for an extended period.

As I find myself in the thick of things, the scene is bustling and hectic, yet I can’t help but feel a sense of fulfillment as this chaotic encounter marks the end of my journey through the captivating world of Core Keeper. With the six Titan souls now in my possession, it’s time to face the boss with every ounce of determination and courage I have left. Let’s show them what we’re made of!

For now, the Core Commander serves as our final obligatory foe, but given the impressive debut of this game during its 1.0 release, who can predict the surprises that may lie ahead?
