6 New Gen Manga That Can Replace Jujutsu Kaisen

This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen series.

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular and critically acclaimed manga, considered one of the best new series in recent years. It’s known for its thrilling world of sorcery and cursed energy, and its captivating action sequences quickly gained a dedicated fanbase. Sadly, the JJK manga concluded in 2024, which many fans found disappointing, particularly because the ending felt rushed.

As a huge manga fan, I was absolutely blown away by Jujutsu Kaisen! It was a massive success for Weekly Shonen Jump, and honestly, it’s a big loss for them now that it’s on hiatus. For a while, Jujutsu Kaisen was even outselling One Piece – can you believe it?! It’s been a year since we’ve gotten new chapters, and while we miss it terribly, it’s exciting to see some new series trying to fill the void. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo looks really promising, and I’m also keeping an eye on Kagurabachi – both could be the next big thing!

Dandadan

Supernatural Meets Aliens

Dandadan was already a well-loved manga, but the recent anime adaptation has made it even more popular. While it’s more of a comedy than Jujutsu Kaisen, Dandadan still explores themes of the supernatural and aliens.

Fans are loving the story and characters in Dandadan, and the fantastic anime adaptation is making the manga even more popular. It’s already a huge success in Japan, and many believe it has the potential to become as popular as Jujutsu Kaisen.

Kagurabachi

A Story About Sorcerers, just Like Jujutsu Kaisen

If you enjoy Jujutsu Kaisen, you’ll likely feel the same energy with Kagurabachi. Since it’s become popular, many fans have started calling it the next big thing in Weekly Shonen Jump, similar to how Jujutsu Kaisen once was.

Like Jujutsu Kaisen, Kagurabachi includes characters with supernatural abilities. Both shows explore mature themes and deliver exciting, action-packed battles that are sure to keep viewers hooked. With its anime potentially arriving as early as next year, Kagurabachi is expected to become very popular.

Ichi the Witch

A World of Witches and Majiks

Recently, Ichi the Witch has become the most talked-about new manga series. It launched around the same time as the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) and has quickly gained a large and growing fanbase.

While Ichi the Witch is a bit more cheerful than Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s still a promising action series that fans of JJK will likely enjoy. It has a lot of potential and could become just as popular, especially if it gets an anime adaptation.

Horikoshi’s Upcoming New Manga

Horikoshi’s New Project After MHA

Kohei Horikoshi is now a major figure in the world of manga, largely because of his incredibly popular series, My Hero Academia. The series was a huge success for Weekly Shonen Jump, and its conclusion has left a significant gap in the magazine’s lineup.

Fortunately, Horikoshi has announced he’s starting a new manga, which he will both write and illustrate. This new project will probably be quite different from My Hero Academia, and it could potentially fill the void left by both My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Gege’s Upcoming New Manga

A New Gege Project That Could Leave JJK Behind

While Jujutsu Kaisen is likely to be Gege’s most famous creation, he’s already planning his next project. He had to finish Jujutsu Kaisen quickly because of health problems, but he clearly enjoys making manga. He’s previously stated his desire to begin a completely new series, separate from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Details about the new story, including its plot and release date, are still a mystery. Currently, Gege is focused on Modulo, but fans will be thrilled when he starts a new, complete manga series.

JJK Modulo

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Very Own Sequel

Now that Jujutsu Kaisen has finished, I think its official sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is the most likely series to take its place and capture the same audience. It really feels like the natural next step.

The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Modulo, marks a welcome return for writer Gege Akutami, and fans are thrilled with the direction of the story. Set 68 years after Sukuna’s defeat, Modulo is proving to be a compelling continuation. Akutami has introduced a new group of characters – Yuka, Tsurugi, and Maru – who face the difficult task of establishing peace between humans and extraterrestrial beings. The only downside is that Modulo is expected to be a relatively short manga, likely finishing within a year.
