October is here, and gamers around the world are getting ready to celebrate the spooky season with their favorite horror games. While some fans will enjoy playing classic titles like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, others are searching for fresh, new horror game experiences.
2025 has offered a great selection of new horror games, giving fans of the genre lots to enjoy. Just last month saw the release of several highly anticipated titles, including Cronos: The New Dawn from Bloober Team, Silent Hill f, Dying Light: The Beast, and No, I’m Not A Human, which should keep players busy. And there’s still more on the way in October, with six new horror games especially worth checking out.
This isn’t a complete list of all the new horror games coming out in October 2025, but it covers some of the most anticipated titles. On October 9th, Bye Sweet Carole will be released – it’s a story-focused horror game with a visual style that strongly resembles classic Disney films. The game follows a woman searching for her missing friend, Carole Simmons, and investigating the strange Bunny Hall orphanage. Also on that day, horror enthusiasts can try The Lacerator, where the main villain relentlessly pursues the player and attempts to, quite literally, remove their limbs. If the character, Max, does lose a limb or two, the game continues, and players must adapt. The Lacerator offers a choice between traditional fixed camera angles and a modern over-the-shoulder, third-person perspective, making it appealing to both fans of classic and contemporary horror games.

Little Nightmares 3 offers the same creepy, Tim Burton-inspired atmosphere as the previous two games, but this time you can play with a friend online. Then, on October 22, Days Without Incident will be released on PC. This first-person survival-horror game looks a lot like the excellent, but often overlooked, Condemned series, and puts you in a spooky, abandoned factory. The following day, October 23, Tormented Souls 2 comes out. Just like the first game, Tormented Souls 2 will play very similarly to the classic Resident Evil games.
Good news for horror fans: Ire: A Prologue has a release date! This first-person horror game is being developed by ProbablyMonsters, a studio headed by former Bungie CEO Harold Ryan. Early looks at Ire: A Prologue are encouraging, and players can experience it right before Halloween on October 28.
