Nintendo’s recent financial report revealed six new games that will be exclusive to the upcoming Switch 2 console. The Switch 2 has already become the fastest-selling console of all time, boosted by a great selection of launch titles and popular games like Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders.
Even though the Switch 2 is brand new, Nintendo is quickly releasing exclusive games to please existing fans and attract new ones. While Nintendo’s plans for 2026 are still largely unknown, an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation this week should reveal more about what’s coming soon. Plus, Nintendo has confirmed it’s working on several first-party games specifically for the new console, as highlighted in their recent financial report.
Nintendo recently shared its financial results, showing which Switch 2 games are selling the best. The report also detailed six upcoming games that will be exclusive to the Switch 2. First up is Mario Tennis Fever, coming out February 12th. Then, Pokemon Pokopia will be released on March 5th, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup at Bellabel Park is scheduled for March 26th. Currently, those are the only games with confirmed release dates, but Nintendo has also given release windows for other Switch 2 exclusives still in development.
New Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Games Releasing Soon

- Mario Tennis Fever – February 12
- Pokemon Pokopia – March 5
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup at Bellabel Park – March 26
- Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – Spring 2026
- Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – 2026
- Splatoon Raiders – TBD
The new Yoshi game, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, is scheduled to be released on the Switch 2 this spring, likely by June 20th. Since Nintendo hasn’t announced many of its plans after March, we can anticipate a Nintendo Direct presentation soon—possibly without many partner companies featured—to confirm the release date for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and share more details about Nintendo’s spring lineup.
Later in 2026, Switch 2 owners can also look forward to Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. The Fire Emblem games have consistently been some of the most critically-acclaimed games from Nintendo, and there’s no reason to expect anything different from Fortune’s Weave. If Fortune’s Weave meets its announced 2026 release window, then Switch 2 owners should have an incredible new strategy adventure on their hands at some point this year.
We still don’t have a confirmed release date for Splatoon Raiders. This single-player game promises a fresh take on the Splatoon universe, and I’m really excited to hear more about it. While many hope to see it launch in 2026, it’s still uncertain.
Big Switch 1 Games Are Releasing in 2026, Too
The Switch 2 will work with all existing Switch games, so everything available for the original console will also be playable on the new one. We’re expecting Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on April 18th, and while Rhythm Heaven Groove and Pokemon Champions are both planned for release sometime in 2026, Nintendo fans should have plenty of new and exciting games to enjoy on both consoles this year.
