As a huge Xbox Game Pass fan, I’m always impressed by the variety of games they offer, and the simulation games are a real highlight! No matter which Game Pass plan you choose, you get access to some really cool and unique sims, and a lot of them you can play on both your Xbox and PC. It’s honestly a fantastic way to try out games I’d probably never buy outright – it lets me explore a ton of different titles without the risk!
Xbox Game Pass has games for every type of player, whether you prefer playing alone or with friends. You can lose yourself in relaxing single-player experiences like power washing, or team up with others to protect your city. Many games, especially simulators, are also a fun way to learn about different jobs and what it’s like to do them every day.
We didn’t include Microsoft Flight Simulator and the PowerWash Simulator games because they’re already very popular. We want to highlight some lesser-known simulation games available on Game Pass that deserve more attention.
Crime Scene Cleaner
Are YOU The Bad Guy?
Ever thought about what it would be like to work for the mob? Now you can get a taste, with a catch. In Crime Scene Cleaner, you play as a single dad who has to clean up after the mob’s messes – think blood, weapons, and bad smells – to afford his daughter’s medical bills. The boss pays well for a thorough job, and sometimes you might even find valuable items. Whether you hand those over or keep them for yourself is up to you… if you’re willing to take the risk.
The better you clean, the more you’ll earn, letting you upgrade your cleaning tools for faster, more efficient work. You’ve tackled the visible mess, but don’t forget to check for hidden clues – like fingerprints revealed under UV light! Remember what happens when you let the mob down, so aim for perfection. If you enjoy games like PowerWash Simulator, you’ll love this single-player experience, but with a unique and exciting addition.
A Game About Digging A Hole
Just Keep Digging
You’ve just moved in, and there’s a strange orange ‘X’ marked on your backyard grass. Naturally, you decide to dig! This is a solo adventure where you start with just a shovel and a small amount of supplies. You’ll earn money by selling things like stones and coal to upgrade your tools. Keep in mind your energy will go down, so you’ll need to recharge. The further you dig, the tougher it becomes to climb back up, but luckily you can buy items like jetpacks to help with ascents and avoid damage. And the deeper you go, the more valuable treasures you’ll discover!
What secrets lie at the bottom of the hole? And why are you digging in the first place? As you dig deeper in this solo adventure, tools like the metal detector can guide you, but be careful! Wasting resources on useless materials could leave you stuck. Every shovel full of dirt brings you closer to the truth, but are you ready for what you’ll find?
Police Simulator: Patrol Officers
Good Cop or Bad Cop?
As a big fan of police procedural games, I’m really excited about Police Simulator: Patrol Officers! It lets you truly experience what it’s like to be a police officer patrolling the streets of Brighton. You can play on your own, or team up with a friend for a full squad experience. You start with simple things like handing out parking tickets, but quickly work your way up, gaining more responsibility and unlocking cool new gear like better radios and faster cars. It’s not just about arrests though – you’ll be doing interrogations where you really need to read people, and even dealing with what seem like minor traffic accidents that can unexpectedly lead to something much bigger. It seems super immersive!
You’ll earn experience points (XP) at the end of every shift based on the number of incidents you handle and how thoroughly you document them. This XP helps you level up and unlock new areas of Brighton, each with its own distinct atmosphere and challenges. It’s also beneficial to explore every part of the city, as citizens will sometimes ask for help with directions, and knowing the city well is a great asset for any officer.
Roadside Research (Game Preview)
Is That Goop?
In this game, you and up to three friends manage a gas station… with a secret! You’ve crash-landed on Earth as aliens and need to study humans to upgrade your technology. The catch? You have to blend in and act like normal employees while pumping gas and keeping the shelves stocked. Don’t leave any alien slime lying around! If you do anything suspicious, a meter will rise, and if it fills up, the government will come investigate – and that’s bad news.
I’m really into this game called Roadside Research! Basically, you run a gas station, but it’s not just about pumping gas. You have to keep the place nice and inviting to get customers, and then you secretly collect info on them. The more you learn, the weirder it gets – you can even subtly influence what they buy, or erase their memories if they see something they shouldn’t! You can also unlock cool new snacks and upgrades for your station, and better amenities mean people are willing to spend more. It’s a lot about managing the station, but also about keeping your secrets safe. The game really makes you wonder if you can pull it off and hide what you’re really doing!

This touching game follows a young boy’s journey as he bravely guides a stunning herd of creatures up a mountain. Called Herdling, the game features breathtaking scenery and lets you form a bond with the unique animals you collect along the way. It’s a moving experience that combines thoughtful puzzles and heartfelt compassion in a challenging search for peace.
Gather items to help you recognize members of your group, and carefully lead them through dangerous areas filled with unsettling creatures. It’s important to keep everyone together! A larger group means faster speeds when you charge across the plains, but be warned: if anyone falls behind, they’re lost for good. Leading the herd is challenging, but reaching your destination will be a rewarding experience.
House Flipper
Work Smarter, Not Harder
Want to design your perfect home? With House Flipper, you can! If you enjoy demolition and transforming spaces – maybe even building a secret basement shelter – this game is for you. You’ll face the challenge of fulfilling clients’ specific renovation requests, from finding the perfect paint color to fixing mistakes and leaving everything spotless. Luckily, you’ll have all the tools you need! From painting and tiling to completely remodeling bathrooms, House Flipper offers a full renovation experience, and you’ll improve your skills as you play through the game.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021
Roll Up Your Sleeves
In Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, you start as a new mechanic with an empty garage and work your way up by fixing cars. You’ll have over 72 different cars to work on, each with around 4000 parts that need attention. As you earn money, you can upgrade your garage with new tools and equipment to offer more services and take on bigger, more profitable jobs. The game features a single-player story where you can completely rebuild cars, customize their paint, and fine-tune their performance. Each repair job presents unique challenges, and completing them quickly—sometimes through minigames—will earn you rewards and skill points. These skill points can be used to improve your abilities, like speeding up how fast you remove parts, helping you work even faster and earn more.
If you enjoy a constant stream of work, you’ll find plenty to do with endless customer orders. And if you need a break from fixing other people’s cars, you can save up and work on your own vehicle. You can buy cars at auction and then test out any modifications you’ve made on the racetrack. Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is incredibly detailed and plays smoothly, with some players playfully noting they’ve actually learned about car mechanics just by playing the game. If you’re interested in learning more about cars, this game might be even more effective than a textbook!
