ARC Raiders is set to be a major game release in 2025, already attracting a huge number of players. It’s a visually impressive and exciting extraction shooter, and the developers plan to add even more content in the future. It’s quickly becoming a popular choice, and is a strong competitor to games like Escape from Tarkov.
Even if ARC Raiders is great, players still have a lot of ideas for improvements they’d like to see next year. Here are the 7 features we’re hoping get added to the game in 2026.
7 ARC Raiders Changes We Want to See
PvE Servers or Modes
A key part of playing ARC Raiders involves battling other players, but many would appreciate the option of a separate mode or server focused solely on cooperative play against the environment. The current player-versus-player combat can be quite challenging and stressful, and Embark Studios could broaden the game’s appeal by offering a more relaxed experience for those who prefer it.
If Escape from Tarkov can muster up a PvE mode, then ARC Raiders should be able to do it too.
Better Outfit Customization
ARC Raiders has a lot of cool character outfits, but right now you can only use them as complete sets. It would be great if we could mix and match pieces – like using a helmet from one outfit with a jacket from another. That way, we could really customize how our characters look.
Adding a transmog system to ARC Raiders would be fantastic, though it might be challenging to create due to the detailed and unique design of each outfit.
New Maps
It seems clear that players are hoping for more maps in ARC Raiders by 2026. While the game currently has a good selection, there’s plenty of room to expand. Embark Studios has confirmed they plan to add new content, but the focus should be on creating high-quality maps that are truly enjoyable to explore.
The first new map, Stella Montis, came out in November 2025 and quickly became popular for player-versus-player combat. It featured close-range fighting in areas with limited visibility.
Item Insurance
Okay, so in a lot of extraction shooters, if you die, you can usually get some of your stuff back with insurance or something. But in ARC Raiders, forget about it! If you go down, you lose everything you’re carrying – permanently. The only exception is if a cheater gets you; Embark Studios will actually refund your gear in that case, which is good to know.
If the game can detect and penalize cheaters, it should be possible to add a system where players can insure their gear. This would allow them to recover their equipment after a raid, even if their character dies, perhaps after a short waiting period.
Less Punishing Stamina Mechanics
As a big ARC Raiders fan, I have to say the stamina system is really bringing me down. It’s just way too punishing! There’s nothing more frustrating than sprinting away from a tough fight and then basically stopping dead because you ran out of stamina. It doesn’t feel right in those intense, desperate moments and honestly, it’s pretty annoying when it happens. I really hope the developers look at tweaking it because it’s impacting the fun for a lot of us.
Players have reported that stamina drains too quickly, even with fully upgraded stamina skills. The developers plan to improve how stamina works in ARC Raiders with a new update expected in 2026.
Expedition Adjustments
In ARC Raiders, the Expedition Project is a way for players to voluntarily reset their progress. By donating resources, they can start over with a new character, leaving behind their current one. However, completing an Expedition Project requires a significant amount of effort and resources.
To earn the biggest rewards from an Extraction Project, you’ll need at least five million coins saved up. This high requirement might be discouraging for players who don’t play as often, as they won’t get much benefit from completing the Expedition Project.
More Achievements
ARC Raiders offers a good collection of achievements and trophies, but most are unlocked quite easily simply by playing and completing basic objectives. Since the game will be updated and expanded over time, it would be great to see more challenging achievements added with future updates.
Players who like to fully explore games will find a lot to enjoy in ARC Raiders. After about 50 hours of gameplay, seeing everything the game has to offer will likely unlock most of its achievements.
