To start off, let me explain the initial electric barrier defense in the game 7 Days To Die. This defense is called an Electric Fence. You can position these poles and connect them to a power source like a Battery Bank or Generator. The wiring process is straightforward; first, arrange all the posts, then string a wire from the power source to the initial post, followed by the next one and so on.
Electric fences deliver a shock to any approaching zombie, temporarily slowing them down. They also cause continual, minor damage. By strategically placing these fences, you can guide or even force zombies through them. However, keep in mind that electric fences are vulnerable and can be broken easily. Once one post is damaged, the entire fence becomes non-functional.
4. Blade Trap

The Blade Trap, visually unappealing yet dangerous, consists of three corroded blades fastened to a rotating mechanism. The issue with the Blade Trap lies in its design, as it only harms zombies by coming into direct contact, but also gets damaged in the process. This puts it at risk of being destroyed. To mitigate this, skilled players often place multiple traps one above the other so that if one is damaged or destroyed, another can take its place.
3. SMG Turret

The Shotgun Turret operates identically to an SMG Turret, but instead of firing bullets, it discharges shotgun ammunition such as shells and slugs. Without a doubt, this is the most effective fully-automated defense mechanism for securing the final line of your base’s protection.
In the game 7 Days To Die, it’s most effective to position Shotgun Turrets in confined spaces or nestled into wall recesses along a firing line, as this ensures they only target zombies that are extremely near them due to the substantial damage drop-off at greater distances. While they won’t deplete ammo as swiftly as SMG Turrets, you should still anticipate reloading them during a Blood Moon event.

One of the best aspects of these turrets is their mobility, allowing you to position them anywhere in your base needing reinforcement. A handy tip: Space out the deployment of Robotic Turrets by a few seconds so when one requires reloading, the other continues firing and doesn’t exhaust its ammo simultaneously.
