7 Days To Die: How To Cure Dysentery

As a seasoned survivor in the post-apocalyptic world of 7 Days to Die, I can attest to the relentless challenges that come with scavenging for resources and fending off hordes of undead. One such challenge that has left many a gamer crippled in their tracks is the dreaded dysentery.

In the game 7 Days to Die, players must scavenge for resources, look after their wellbeing, and battle against hordes of zombies to stay alive. Frequently, they may fall ill within the game, especially during the initial phases, due to infections or dysentery.

In the early stages of my gaming experience, I’ve found that certain penalties can pose quite a challenge, slowing down my progress. Ailments like dysentery, for instance, need immediate attention because these penalties can lead to complications such as exhaustion and dehydration, making gameplay more difficult.

Dysentry is often caused by eating or drinking contaminated substances, such as dirty water, stale sandwiches left out for too long, and raw meat that hasn’t been properly handled. While eating these items doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get dysentery, there’s a chance it could happen. However, like other negative effects in the game, dysentery can be effectively treated with medication or specific items.

In-game, the dysentery penalty persists for about an hour. Initially, it may seem harmless to your character’s health, but over time, it will steadily reduce both your character’s hunger and hydration levels by 0.5 units per second for hunger and 1.5 units per second for hydration. This can lead to several problems for the player such as dehydration, hunger, and even death if not managed properly.

In the world of ‘7 Days to Die’, I’ve found two effective methods for treating dysentery. You can either brew some Goldenrod Tea or quench your thirst with pure Mineral Water.

Drinking Goldenrod Tea could potentially aid in the recovery of players affected by dysentery, especially during its initial phases. However, this remedy can only be discovered once you’ve read ‘Home Cooking Weekly 4/100’.

Goldenrod tea is made by blending water and goldenrod flowers. To make a cup of goldenrod tea, you’ll first need to start a fire and gather a cooking pot. The primary ingredient, the goldenrod flower, can be found in wooded areas. Look for yellow blossoms on the ground in the forest to harvest the goldenrod flowers. These flowers are typically yellow in color.

You can create Pure Mineral Water using only Water, Goldenrod Flower, Coal, and Chrysanthemum Flower. This method was found in the fourth volume of “Wasteland Treasures”.

1. To start off, transform Murky Water into Clean Water using a fire and a pot. Then, gather Coal either by chopping down charred trees in the Burnt Forest region or mining it from Coal Ore deposits. If you’re fortunate, you might stumble upon Coal within houses when raiding them. Lastly, keep an eye out for Chrysanthemum Flowers scattered around forest locations on the ground.

Vitamin Tablets can help gamers avoid diarrhea while their medication takes effect. These vitamins are obtainable as loot but cannot be produced within the game itself. After consuming a Vitamin, the benefit lasts for 12 minutes, enabling players to safely drink Murky Water or eat Raw Meat without worrying about catching dysentery.

In the game 7 Days to Die, you can find vitamins not only in stores but also by searching homes and hospitals. Some hidden stashes of medicines and supplies might contain vitamins, so keep an eye out for them during your looting expeditions in towns and cities.
