The Scadutree Avatar, though not required, represents a memory from the Land of Shadows. To encounter it, one must navigate through various challenges. Considered a deity by locals, it has its own temple as a place of reverence.

In the Church District DLC, your boss is located at the northernmost tip. To get there, players first need to leave Moorth Ruins behind and venture through a cave. Once in Bonny Village, follow the northward path, which takes you across a significant portion of the map, to eventually reach the Church District. After completing this area and resolving its water issues, you’ll finally encounter the Scadutree Avatar boss.

Reaching the Site of Grace at Shadow Keep’s optional boss area, called the “resting place for another memory keep guardian,” is quite accessible once you’ve gained entry to the Church District. Instead, players should utilize the church district as a launchpad and climb a set of ladders to return to the Storehouse in Shadow Keep, rather than addressing the water issue within the church district first.

Moving forward from that point, they’ll ultimately arrive at Shadow Keep’s concealed entrance, where they can engage in battle against Commander Gaius – a formidable foe and optional boss renowned for his challenging charging attack, which has left numerous gamers exasperated.

5 Scadutree Chalice

After triumphing over Commander Gaius in the arena and securing my hard-earned rewards, I strongly advise against leaving the scene right away. It may sound absurd to those who have extensively traversed this region, but it’s not uncommon for people to overlook the opportunity to delve deeper into the fields behind Shadow Keep once the boss has been vanquished.

As you journey northward, you will eventually come across the Scadutree Chalice. At this location, players can discover a noteworthy collection of Scadutree Fragments – a total of five pieces. Defeating Commander Gaius is strongly advised for more than just a keepsake and some runes; he also bestows the precious Scadutree Fragments that significantly enhance your abilities in upcoming battles.

4 Abyssal Woods

The creepiest area of the game, the Abyssal Woods, is extremely hard to find. It is a completely optional region that most people will miss simply because it is so difficult to find without guidance. After you’ve defeated the Golden Hippopotamus, players need to explore the keep, find a secret ladder, go through a waterfall, discover the secret of a painting, and finally take the classic FromSoftware teleporting coffin to the Castle Watering Hole.

As I follow that winding path, I descend into the ominous catacombs, shrouded in darkness. Braving through, I overcome a formidable foe to unlock the entrance to the Abyssal Woods. Here, my trusted steed Torrent is left behind, as I navigate a lengthy stealth section filled with elusive enemies that must be circumvented at all costs. Only then can I reach Midra, the enraged Lord of Frenzied Flame, hidden within his imposing castle.

3 Hinterlands

If you find the prospect of reaching a concealed region hidden behind the Shadow Keep insufficiently thrilling, the game “Shadow of the Erdtree” offers an additional dose of excitement. To the right of the Shadow Keep Back Gate’s site of grace, there lies a vacant chamber with merely a colossal statue and a message. Perform the O, Mother gesture before this statue to unveil a concealed entrance that grants access to the Hinterlands.

One route takes you to Shaman Village, an idyllic place steeped in ancient mystery and charm. Here, you’ll find intriguing tales and some valuable rewards. Another path leads to ominous ruins, where gargantuan fingers emerge from the ground, signaling a larger mission involving Count Ymir, who resides in Manus Metyr.

2 Charo’s Hidden Grave

If I find the expanses of blue blooms at the Cerulean Coast enchanting and shrouded in intrigue, then the crimson blossoms scattered across Charo’s Hidden Grave will leave me feeling both unnerved and captivated in equal measure. There aren’t any bosses to remember there, but players are sure to be rewarded with an abundance of loot and visuals that are nothing short of breathtaking and immersive.

To access this concealed spot, you can walk behind the stone-hardened body of the colossal dragon situated at the Dragon Communion Altar. Few players might consider exploring here, but the outcasts needn’t feel apprehensive about desecrating sacred grounds.

1 Southern Nameless Mausoleum

If you enjoy examining your surroundings while traveling or if you find yourself lost in thought while studying maps, you may have spotted a tiny southern island in “Shadow of the Erdtree” that appears disconnected from the rest of the land. This island, which can be identified by a structure atop it, is home to the Southern Nameless Mausoleum and is quite elusive.

To reach the island, players must navigate through a narrow underwater passage concealed beneath a ledge near the tree nearest to it. Upon entering, they will encounter the formidable foe known as the Dancer of Ranah, who yields the Dancing Blade of Ranah as a reward for victory, along with an armor set that amplifies damage dealt.
