For generations, people have been thrilled by Spider-Man’s exciting adventures. Gamers especially enjoy the chance to play as the friendly neighborhood hero, swinging through New York City and defeating villains.
Insomniac Studios has done a fantastic job with recent Spider-Man games, and it’s great to see the character thriving in the gaming world. But let’s not forget the older, classic Spider-Man games – they were incredibly fun and deserve recognition too!
Spider-Man
A Classic Game That Would Be A Blast To Play With Improved Visuals
Many people still fondly remember the *Spider-Man* game from 2000, which beautifully celebrates the hero’s history. In it, Spider-Man swings through New York City, battling to prevent a terrible scheme from succeeding.
While still enjoyable, the original *Spider-Man* game hasn’t held up perfectly over time. The movement can feel awkward, and the camera is difficult to manage. A remaster could address these issues and make this classic game more accessible and enjoyable for modern players.
Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
An Underappreciated Game That More People Would Respect With A Remaster
While not as popular as the first *Spider-Man* game, *Enter Electro* is a sequel that deserves a second look. Some players criticized it back then for featuring lesser-known villains, but those characters have gained more recognition over time, making the game more enjoyable today.
Because Spider-Man is so popular, many players already know the villains featured in the game, like Electro, Shocker, and Sandman. Releasing an updated version would be a simple way to reach a wider audience, particularly those who enjoyed the original game.
Ultimate Spider-Man
An Amazing Cel-Shaded Adventure That Won’t Take Too Much To Be Improved For Modern Audiences
Treyarch did a great job with the console versions of *Spider-Man 2*, so they were given the chance to create a completely original *Spider-Man* game, not based on a movie. The result was *Ultimate Spider-Man*, a lively, cartoon-style superhero game where players can play as both Spider-Man and Venom.
The success of *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* showed there’s a strong desire to play as Spider-Man’s iconic villains. That makes a remake of *Ultimate Spider-Man* a natural fit. Updated controls and gameplay would really showcase the game’s unique, still-impressive art style and give fans another great *Spider-Man* experience.
Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe
Teaming Up With Spider-Man’s Iconic Friends And Villains Would Be A Blast
Friend or Foe is a fantastic Spider-Man game that lets you play with a huge cast of classic heroes and villains. It’s inspired by the look and feel of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, but creates a unique storyline where Spider-Man’s allies and enemies have to work together to face a major danger.
With its exciting action and engaging story, this game is sure to please fans. While a complete remake isn’t expected, players will likely enjoy experiencing the updated graphics and continuing to battle their opponents.
Spider-Man 2
The Movie Tie-In Makes The Remake Tricky, But This Classic Game Will Make Waves If It Surpasses This Hurdle
Considering it was made for a movie, *Spider-Man 2* was remarkably innovative. It was the first game to truly capture the feeling of freely swinging through a detailed, open city – and it did so incredibly well when it was released.
Remaking this game is challenging, but fans eager to relive the experience of fast-paced pizza delivery will enjoy a *Spider-Man 2* remaster. While the fighting and graphics could be improved, the swinging mechanics are already so fun that just a few updates would make it perfect for today’s players.
Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows
The Best Spider-Man Game Outside Of The Insomniac Titles In The Eyes Of Many
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I always thought *Web of Shadows* was one of the best games they ever made! What really set it apart was how it dealt with Spider-Man’s inner struggle. Being able to switch between the Red and Black Suits and really explore his morality was just an amazing idea, and it made the whole game so much better.
While the original game’s animations and character designs weren’t perfect, a remake could easily fix those issues. Given how popular Spider-Man is right now, revisiting *Web of Shadows* would be a great opportunity to let players experience one of the best portrayals of the symbiote storyline in gaming, as an alien threat gradually makes New York City more dangerous.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
The Spider-Verse Is More Appealing Than Ever Before
The *Spider-Verse* films proved audiences enjoy fresh takes on *Spider-Man*, but many don’t know that *Shattered Dimensions* did this first. Playing as four different Spider-Men in a quirky and exciting adventure perfectly captures the spirit of the character, making *Shattered Dimensions* a really enjoyable game.
It’s unfortunate this game was removed from sale when Activision’s Marvel license expired. Hopefully, someone will find a way to release a remastered version so a new generation of players can enjoy it.
