I’ve been watching a lot of anime lately, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End really stood out – it was a huge hit, not just for the winter season of 2026, but overall. The second part of the series took viewers on a thoughtful journey, mixing in some action and humor along the way. Now that spring has arrived, a new wave of anime is taking center stage.

The spring 2026 anime season is packed with both new and returning shows, including a lot of popular isekai series with storylines that everyone is excited about. Beyond that, there’s a great mix of romance, fantasy, and action anime that could rival the popularity of Frieren. Here’s a look at the spring 2026 anime with the potential to become just as big.

One Piece: Elbaph Arc

As a long-time follower of One Piece, I know a lot of fans, myself included, are really looking forward to the start of the Elbaph Arc. It’s an island Luffy and the Straw Hats have wanted to reach ever since they were in Little Garden. We first heard about it from Broggy and Dorry, who told Luffy and Usopp incredible stories about it – tales of giant warriors, epic battles, and a completely unique culture. It sounds like a place unlike anything they’ve encountered before.

Fans are also excited about the new actors joining the One Piece cast, including those voicing Loki, Scopper Gaban, and Shamrock. These talented voice actors are expected to make the upcoming Elbaph Arc even more amazing and unforgettable.

Re:Zero Season 4

If you’re a fan of either Emilia or Rem, you’re likely looking forward to the new season of Re:Zero and the return of its hero, Natsuki Subaru, this spring. The fourth season will have 19 episodes, and although that’s fewer than some expected, the new storyline promises to be exciting from start to finish.

Even now, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 4 doesn’t get the recognition it deserves within the isekai genre. Despite having a detailed and fascinating world, compelling characters, and a long history, the anime – often called “slime meeting isekai” by fans – hasn’t quite captured the same level of popularity as other shows in the genre.

I was so glad the first episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime really surprised me! It struck a perfect balance between fun, lighthearted scenes and these really intriguing, darker moments that made me wonder what’s coming for Rimuru and everyone. And honestly? The new ending theme is amazing – it’s easily the best ending of any isekai anime I’ve seen, and it totally makes me want to jump right back into this world!

Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2

The spring 2026 anime season will include a second season of Wistoria: Wand and Sword. This fantasy series has gained a strong fanbase thanks to its beautiful animation by BN Pictures and Actas, exciting action sequences, and a captivating main character whose journey keeps viewers hooked.

Will Serfort, the main character of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, is instantly likable. He’s similar to Asta from other fantasy series – in a world full of magic, he can’t use it himself, but makes up for it with incredible strength, speed, and stamina as a swordsman. Witch Hat Atelier

Bug Films, the animation studio known for Zom 100, is back with a new series called Witch Hat Atelier, planned for release in Spring 2026. They’re committed to a smooth production process and delivering a high-quality adaptation of Coco’s journey to become a witch, complete with beautiful animation and a distinctive style, showcasing all the magic, spells, and mysteries along the way.
