This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Though Jujutsu Kaisen concluded in 2024, creator Gege Akutami quickly returned with a sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, bringing fans back to the world of sorcery. This new manga is set 68 years in the future, featuring a fresh cast of sorcerers. Some, like Yuka and Tsurugi, are human, while others, such as Dabura and Maru, are alien. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will introduce many new sorcerers, but a few are already proving to be the strongest.
Jabaloma
A Rumelian From Maru’s Flashback
The latest flashback arc in the JJK manga, focusing on Maru and Cross, has been really captivating for readers. We’ve also been introduced to some new characters, like Jabaloma, during this storyline.
Jabaloma is from the Rumelian tribe. Although he hasn’t demonstrated any impressive physical strength yet, he’s a highly respected Elder and likely possesses a powerful cursed technique.
Yuka Okkotsu
Yuta’s Successor
Yuka Okkotsu is one of the new central characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. She’s the granddaughter of Yuta and Maki, and shares many similarities with her grandfather, Yuta. Like him, Yuka possesses a huge amount of cursed energy.
Currently in JJK, she isn’t operating at her full potential, but she has significant room for improvement, particularly if she gets Rika’s ring back. It’s possible that by the end of the Modulo arc, she could become one of the most powerful sorcerers around.
Tsurugi Okkotsu
Maki’s Successor
Gege Akutami/Yuji Iwasaki/Viz Tsurugi is Yuka’s older brother, and shares a resemblance to their grandmother, Maki Zenin, while Yuka takes after Yuta. Like Maki, Tsurugi was born with a small amount of cursed energy. Although this has drawbacks, it also gives him incredible physical strength due to a special condition called Heavenly Restriction.
Tsurugi and Yuka are currently considered equals in terms of power, though Tsurugi has demonstrated a slight edge recently. The story suggests that Tsurugi may eventually lose his cursed energy completely, potentially gaining abilities more like those of Maki and Toji.
Cross
Maru’s Twin Brother
Cross is Maru’s twin brother. While much about him is still a mystery, fans are learning more through the current flashbacks. Although his full power hasn’t been revealed yet, he’s likely as strong as Maru. It’s probable that he also possesses a powerful and unique cursed technique that the author is saving for a later reveal.
Maru
A Rumelian With a Broken Cursed Technique
Maru is now part of the central group in JJK Modulo, alongside Yuka and Tsurugi. He’s not human, but an alien from a place called Simuria – specifically, a Rumelian. Since only a few chapters of JJK Modulo are available so far, fans haven’t seen much of what Maru can do.
I’m completely blown away by Maru’s cursed technique! He can manipulate the very laws of physics – things like gravity and even change stuff between solid, liquid, and gas. Honestly, out of the three of them, he’s clearly the strongest. People are saying he’s already at least a Grade 1, but I think his true power puts him way up there, probably Special Grade already!
Dura
A Powerful Rumelian
I’ve noticed Gege has really gotten fans hooked with that recent flashback to Rumelia in the manga. And honestly, the most captivating new character introduced there is definitely Dura, one of the people from Rumelia. I’m really curious to see what his role will be!
Dura acted as a father figure to Maru and Cross, but he was killed in a duel with Dabura. While Dura was a skilled fighter, he wasn’t quite strong enough to defeat Dabura.
Dabura
The King of the Simurians
Without a doubt, Dabura, the alien king, is the most powerful sorcerer of this new generation in Jujutsu Kaisen. He’s demonstrated his incredible strength by effortlessly defeating Dura, and many believe he’s as dangerous as Ryomen Sukuna. This puts him among the very top sorcerers, like Gojo Satoru and Sukuna, and he may even be stronger. It’s still unclear just how powerful he truly is.
I’ve been following Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s become incredibly popular! The original manga recently finished up in late 2024, and you can still read it online for free on Manga Plus – that’s where new chapters used to appear every week. Now, there’s a sequel series called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo running in Weekly Shonen Jump, and chapter 9 is scheduled to come out on November 2, 2025. Of course, you can read that one for free on Manga Plus too.
