7 Strongest Rogue Ninjas From Konoha In Naruto, Ranked

Over the years, the world of Naruto has featured many ninjas who have turned against their villages. These rogue ninjas are often among the most compelling villains in the series. It’s not surprising to fans that most of the strongest ones originally come from the Hidden Leaf Village, Konoha.

Konoha has consistently been home to the most powerful ninja since the creation of ninja villages. It’s only natural that they’ve also produced some of the strongest rogue ninja, and Kishimoto has expertly depicted many of them throughout the series.

Mizuki

Mizuki is widely considered the weakest of the rogue ninjas from Konoha. While not officially considered a rogue ninja in the original manga, the anime gives him significant focus after his fight with Naruto. This conflict leads him down a path that dramatically changes his life. Unfortunately, Mizuki isn’t very skilled, and despite gaining some extra power, he ultimately meets with a disappointing end.

Orochimaru

Orochimaru is a famously powerful and dangerous ninja from the Naruto series. He originally served Konoha faithfully, but his intense curiosity led him to perform unethical experiments on people.

After Hiruzen chose not to punish him, he fled the village and became a rogue ninja. He served as a major villain for much of the series and remained a crucial character until the very end.

Kabuto Yakushi

Kabuto Yakushi used to be a Konoha ninja. He grew up in an orphanage there and later became a member of the ANBU, completing many missions for the village. However, he eventually allied with Orochimaru, who took advantage of him.

I watched as he pledged his loyalty to Orochimaru, even going with him to the Hidden Sound Village. When Orochimaru was defeated, he really stepped up as a major villain. He seemed to absorb any power he could get his hands on, becoming incredibly strong. It actually took the combined might of Itachi and Sasuke, two exceptionally powerful Uchiha, to finally stand up to him.

Itachi Uchiha

Itachi Uchiha was an incredibly powerful ninja from Konoha and a talented member of the Uchiha clan. He was forced into hiding after tragically eliminating his own clan, a deed he committed under orders from Danzo. Despite this, Itachi suffered the consequences of his actions and secretly worked as a spy for Konoha within the Akatsuki organization, preventing them from attacking the Hidden Leaf Village.

Despite appearing as a villain, Itachi was actually a good person who pretended to be bad to protect his village and, most importantly, his brother.

Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha was a highly skilled and powerful ninja in the Naruto series. He originally dreamed of becoming Hokage, but a tragic event during the Third Great Ninja War changed his path. He was manipulated into believing in Madara’s plan – the Eye of the Moon – and dedicated himself to making it a reality.

Obito abandoned his village and secretly guided the Akatsuki organization. He was the main instigator of the Fourth Great Ninja War, and his actions led to the deaths of many people.

Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha is undoubtedly one of the most powerful rogue ninjas. Interestingly, he actually co-founded Konoha alongside Hashirama.

When Madara saw how much power Hashirama held, he began to doubt their partnership and ultimately left the village. Becoming a rogue ninja, Madara even launched an attack on Konoha, hoping to destroy it. This led to an epic battle between him and Hashirama in the Valley of the End, which Hashirama won. But Madara wasn’t finished, and he proved why he was such a formidable villain throughout the series.

Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke is widely considered the most powerful rogue ninja. He’s one of the strongest characters in the entire Naruto series. After his battle with Itachi, he left the Hidden Leaf Village to become even more powerful, and began training under Orochimaru. Importantly, at this time, he hadn’t committed any crimes yet.

As Sasuke grew stronger, he became increasingly consumed by darkness. Following the Kage Summit, he was labeled a criminal and outcast. Despite this, Sasuke played a crucial role in defeating the Akatsuki during the Ninja War, and his actions ultimately led to his pardon for past misdeeds.
