This article contains spoilers for One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece features two primary power sources: Devil Fruits and Haki. Although Devil Fruits were introduced earlier, the story currently emphasizes Haki more.
In the world of One Piece, Haki is the most powerful ability, and even among those who wield it, some are far stronger than others. Very few characters reach the peak of Haki mastery – a ‘god level’ – and some stand above the rest simply through their Haki skills, not because of any Devil Fruit powers.
King Harald
Image by Viz Media Harald is a controversial figure in the One Piece community. He betrayed his close friend, Rocks D. Xebec, and aligned himself with the World Government in an attempt to gain acceptance and build connections.
Despite his personal problems, Harald was exceptionally powerful in the world of One Piece. He was famously known as the strongest King of Elbaf, and this is further emphasized by the author, Oda, placing him on the same power level as Rocks D. Xebec. Harald’s Haki was comparable to Rocks’s, and it became even stronger after he made a deal with Imu. When their Haki clashed, it completely obliterated all life within a 5-kilometer area.
Rocks D. Xebec
Wow, Rocks D. Xebec is just an amazing character! Fans like me have been waiting years to really see him in action, and it’s all about how incredibly powerful he is. Seriously, he’s considered one of the strongest of all time, and his control over Haki was just phenomenal.
Kaido recognized him as incredibly powerful, and a recent flashback confirmed this. Rocks possessed extraordinarily strong Haki – powerful enough to effortlessly defeat an Admiral, obliterate Figarland Garling, and even temporarily withstand control from Imu.
Monkey D. Garp
Monkey D. Garp is incredibly powerful with Haki. As Luffy’s grandfather and Dragon’s father, he’s consistently proven himself to be the strongest fighter in the Marines.
During the battle at God Valley, Garp demonstrated incredibly powerful Haki, overpowering even the boosted Haki of Rocks D. Xebec. He continued to grow stronger after that fight, meaning his Haki surpassed Rocks’s. More recently, Garp nearly wiped out the Blackbeard Pirates on his own. Even as an older man, Garp remains a formidable Marine who shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Gol D. Roger
Gol D. Roger earned the title of Pirate King through incredible combat skills. Without any Devil Fruit powers, Roger depended entirely on his exceptionally powerful Haki.
Roger possessed remarkably powerful Haki, demonstrated during the events at God Valley. Alongside Garp, he defeated Rocks D. Xebec by overcoming Xebec’s advanced Haki defenses. Even then, Roger wasn’t at his full potential, and the true extent of his strength remains to be revealed in One Piece.
Shanks
Honestly, I think Shanks is currently the most powerful Haki user we’ve seen in One Piece! Whenever people talk about who’s really mastered Haki, Shanks is always one of the first names that pops up, and I totally get why.
Shanks is incredibly skilled in all forms of Haki, even the most advanced ones. He possesses unique abilities within Haki, like a technique called ‘Observation Killing,’ which no one else seems to be able to perform. His Haki is so powerful that, during the events at Egghead, Dorry and Brogy went as far as to compare him to the legendary figure Joy Boy.
Imu
Imu is considered the most powerful character currently alive in the world of One Piece, secretly ruling everything from behind the scenes. Their power isn’t just from a strong Devil Fruit ability; they possess strength beyond that.
Imu is shown to possess incredibly powerful Haki, potentially among the strongest in the One Piece world. During the events at God Valley, Imu’s Haki surpassed even that of legendary figures like Roger and Rocks. This suggests its strength is at least on par with Joy Boy’s.
Joy Boy
Most fans believe Joy Boy, also known as Nika from the Second World of One Piece, is the most powerful Haki user ever. While much about him remains a mystery, it’s clear his Conqueror’s Haki is far beyond anything anyone has witnessed before.
When Egghead was attacked, Emet triggered Luffy’s Haki, releasing a powerful blast. This blast was so intense it sent the Five Elders flying all the way back to Marijoa, and even caused Imu to visibly tremble from the force.
