Haki is a powerful, spiritual energy that exists within everyone in the world of One Piece. While everyone possesses it, only a few are able to awaken and use it. There are two main types of Haki, and a rare third type, known as Conqueror’s Haki, which is said to appear in only one in a million people.
I’m absolutely fascinated by Haki in the One Piece world! While a lot of strong characters have all three basic types, it’s the advanced and, even rarer, types that really get me excited. It seems only the most powerful individuals can master these incredibly rare abilities – things like completely nullifying another person’s Haki, or even overcoming seemingly impossible powers like immortality! It’s just mind-blowing to think about what those elites can do.
Monkey D. Luffy

- Rare Haki Type: Voice of All Things, Immortality Counter
Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, is skilled in using Haki. Although he can still get better with all types of Haki, he’s already mastered some advanced techniques. He can also use very rare abilities like Voice of All Things, which is a special extension of his Observation Haki.
Plus, Luffy will likely overcome immortality using Haki, as he hinted to Scopper Gaban. He’s still growing stronger, and we can expect to see his Haki skills develop even further in the final part of the One Piece story.
Scopper Gaban

Scopper Gaban, the left arm of the Pirate King, is exceptionally strong and skilled. He’s a master of Haki, capable of using all its advanced forms. Notably, he can use Conqueror’s Haki to overcome even immortality.
We haven’t yet seen Gaban’s true combat potential, suggesting he might have hidden Haki abilities. Regardless, Gaban is already proving to be one of the most powerful Haki users in One Piece, and his control over it appears to be even better than Luffy’s.
Rocks D. Xebec

Rocks D. Xebec is a famous pirate in the world of One Piece, and he was incredibly powerful – even stronger than the most powerful pirates known as the Yonko. Like many pirates of his era, Rocks didn’t have a Devil Fruit power. Instead, he fought using only his Haki.
Rocks had an incredibly rare ability with Haki that could negate immortality. During the God Valley incident, he demonstrated the power to listen to the Voice of All Things. Most impressively, he could unleash devastating shockwaves with his sword, using Conqueror’s Haki to obliterate anything in their way.
Gol D. Roger
- Rare Haki Type: Voice of All Things, Immortality Counter, Conqueror’s Shockwave
Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, was exceptionally skilled in Haki, mastering all three types. He could also utilize the advanced forms of each, and possessed unique abilities like the power to listen to the voices of all things. Many believe this rare skill was key to his success and ultimately led him to become the Pirate King.
Honestly, I’m convinced Roger could have overcome immortality using Haki! And it wasn’t just regular Haki, either – he had this incredible skill where he could send out powerful shockwaves through his sword, all powered by his Haki. It was a truly unique ability!
Shanks
- Rare Haki Type: Conqueror’s Shockwave, Immortality Counter, Observation Killing, Long Range Haki, Haki Communication
Shanks is widely considered the most powerful user of Haki in One Piece. He’s fully skilled in all three types. Like Roger and Rocks, Shanks can create incredibly strong shockwaves with his sword, and uniquely, he can even negate the effects of immortality using his Conqueror’s Haki.
Adding to his impressive abilities, Shanks can use Conqueror’s Haki over vast distances, even knocking out someone as powerful as an Admiral. He can also communicate with others using his strong Haki. Uniquely, Shanks can even disable an enemy’s Observation Haki with his Conqueror’s Haki – a power that hasn’t been seen in anyone else so far.
Imu
- Rare Haki Type: Immortality Counter, Haki Communication
Imu is incredibly powerful, especially when it comes to Haki – it’s not surprising given their strength. During the God Valley incident, Imu’s Haki was demonstrated to be even more potent than that of Rocks D. Xebec. Although we haven’t seen the full extent of their abilities yet, many believe Imu could potentially use Haki to negate immortality if necessary.
I’ve noticed Imu can communicate with both the Five Elders and the Holy Knights. It seems like this ability is probably a really advanced form of Haki, something beyond what most people can do.
Joy Boy
- Rare Haki Type: Conqueror’s Knot, Immortality Counter
From what I’ve seen, Joy Boy and Shanks seem to be the strongest when it comes to Haki. During the events on Egghead, Joy Boy demonstrated a Conqueror’s Haki unlike anything fans had witnessed before. It looked like he was able to store this power within a special knot – a knot that held onto it for hundreds of years before finally releasing it on Egghead.
It’s highly likely Joy Boy can overcome immortality using Haki, and he probably possesses other, currently unknown, advanced forms of Haki as well.
