Sunset Overdrive is an action-packed zombie game set in a vibrant, open city designed for constant movement. Players can traverse the environment by bouncing off objects like cars and umbrellas, or by grinding on rails and powerlines, making getting around as fun as fighting the undead.
The game features fast-moving, soda-fueled zombie enemies, so players need to quickly dodge and maneuver to stay alive. Luckily, the controls are smooth and easy to use. Adding to the fun, the weapons are highly customizable – you can build all sorts of crazy tools, even one that shoots vinyl records!
Attack On Titan (2016)

While Spider-Man is famous for his webs, the soldiers in Attack on Titan use special cords to move around quickly. Their gear lets them launch and swing from these anchored wires, helping them dodge the dangerous Titans and strike effectively.
This anime game is considered one of the best ever, perfectly capturing the excitement of the original series. While the Titan attacks aren’t quite as graphic as in the anime, the game can still be terrifying if you don’t pay attention to how you move.
Anthem
Fly Home Sweet Metal Chariot
When Anthem launched, it disappointed some BioWare fans who were hoping for a story-rich RPG experience. Instead, the game emphasized action-shooter gameplay. However, almost everyone agreed that flying in Anthem was incredibly enjoyable – many consider it the best flying system ever created in a video game.
In the game, players personalize their giant mech suits, known as Javelins, by choosing different abilities and appearances, which are categorized into familiar RPG roles like spellcasters and defenders. While the larger Javelins aren’t as nimble, they still fly surprisingly fast compared to other games. Players interested in trying it should do so before January 2026, as the game will no longer be supported after that date.
Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner
The Fastest Mech Around
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is a mech action game featuring large robots called Orbital Frames – much bigger than the mechs in Anthem. Unlike many games where mechs move slowly, The 2nd Runner stands out because of the fast-paced action made possible by the connection between the robot, Jehuty, and its pilot, Dingo.
In battles, players can fire guided missiles, pick up and throw enemies, or use a blade for close combat. The game features smooth movement and dodging, giving players the feeling of being a skilled anime pilot – a sensation that was enjoyable in the original PlayStation 2 version and remains so in the updated HD release.
Vanquish

Despite being remastered, Vanquish remains an overlooked gem from PlatinumGames. While its story of space soldiers battling robots isn’t groundbreaking, it delivers a lot of stylish action and cover-based shooting that fans of Gears of War would likely appreciate.
What really makes this game stand out from other cover-based shooters is its amazing powersliding ability. Not only does it look cool and add a strategic element to combat, but it also briefly slows down time, and moving quickly around the battlefield feels incredibly rewarding.
Pepper Grinder
Drill Baby, Drill!
Pepper Grinder is a small, independent game inspired by a relatively obscure title from Game Freak called Drill Dozer. While it plays like a standard platformer with running and jumping, most actions in Pepper Grinder are performed using a drill.
This training exercise lets players move through sand and other surfaces with incredible speed and fluidity. It might take a little practice, but once you master the technique, you’ll love the feeling of launching out of the ground to surprise and defeat opponents.
