Summary
- The power of friendship miraculously saves Final Fantasy protagonists from overwhelming enemies.
- Heroes conveniently survive deadly encounters to continue the plot despite logical challenges.
- Final Fantasy characters often escape certain death by the influence of plot armor and unexpected strengths.
The “Final Fantasy” series is renowned for its story-focused gameplay, where the tales woven are deeply moving and often leave players with powerful emotions after completing an epic journey.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed an intriguing pattern in the stories we immerse ourselves in. Sometimes, our beloved characters, who have fought through countless battles and faced insurmountable odds, end up injured or even seemingly dead after a major event. Yet, miraculously, they’re back on their feet for the next adventure as if nothing significant had ever happened. It seems like the narrative, with its unyielding momentum, compels them to carry on.
1. Cecil And His Friends Somehow Survive Against Zemus
The Power Of Friendship Saves The Day
From the start, Zemus proves to be a formidable force that causes trouble for Cecil and his companions. His might is immense and often leaves the heroes defenseless, almost instantly. However, in a classic twist that’s become a running joke in JRPGs, just when all seems lost… a familiar trope reappears.
Suddenly, Cecil recalls every person who has assisted him so far. The strength of camaraderie propels the protagonists to deliver a historic beating on Zemus after regaining their vigor.
2. The Warriors Of Light Are Brought Back After Dying To The Cloud Of Darkness
Doga And Unei Sacrifice Their Souls To Bring Back The Warriors Of Light
In the annals of Final Fantasy lore, The Cloud of Darkness stands as one of its strongest antagonists, capable of overpowering the Warriors of Light without breaking a sweat. After their demise, the spirits of those who assisted them on their journey miraculously resurrect these heroes.
As I delved deeper into the heart-pounding adventure of Final Fantasy 3, this pivotal moment showcased the formidable power of the Cloud of Darkness. However, the tale wasn’t meant to conclude prematurely. It wasn’t until I allied with the Warriors of Darkness that we managed to chip away at the final boss’s strength and ultimately claim victory.
3. The Heroes Somehow Surviving Against A God
Kefka Should’ve Flattened The Heroes
Following his manipulations with the Warring Triad, Kefka amassed their might, transforming himself into a self-proclaimed deity. He wielded the Light of Judgment, suppressing opponents and destroying entire settlements under its devastating impact.
It’s fortunate that they lack this power entirely when the heroes unite to vanquish Kefka. Surprisingly, even the clown jester proves to be quite simple in this situation.
4. Cloud Surviving After Falling Multiple Stories
Should’ve Broken His Neck After Crashing Into The Church
Following his clash with Air Buster, Cloud plummets from the Mako Reactor, landing in Aerith’s sanctuary. This descent was so steep and deadly, it would have been fatal for an ordinary being, but fortunately, he survived by the end of the day.
Despite the fact that I seemed to have taken quite a tumble, with those flowers cushioning my fall, I found myself miraculously getting back on my feet without a hitch. Frankly, considering the nature of my descent, one would expect a broken neck at the very least.
5. Squall Coming Back To His Time After Beating Ultimecia
Somehow Managed To Save Himself Even After He Was Clearly Lost
Toward the end of Final Fantasy 8, Squall is shown battling to return to his own time following Ultimecia’s defeat. A succession of unsettling images intensify this predicament, with Rinoa’s facial characteristics growing indistinct as Squall’s face transforms into an emptiness.
A surprising twist unfolds at the end of Final Fantasy 8, leaving viewers stunned to discover that Squall had actually survived. Despite initial disbelief, fans can’t help but root for him as he passionately kisses Rinoa, strengthening their bond forever.
6. The Party Having Permanent Reraise During The Final Battle
Makes The Fight With Yu Yevon A Breeze
Faith has been leading the champions as they strive to halt Sin and rescue Spira from the long-standing cycle of conflict it’s been stuck in. This reaches its climax in a decisive confrontation with Yu Yevon, during which the very forces driving the storyline shield the heroes from perishing.
In a more straightforward manner, the permanent Reraise stat means that the heroes can never be defeated by Yu Yevon, resulting in a less dramatic final battle. Although the aid from the fayth is valued, many fans might have favored defeating Yu Yevon independently.
7. Clive Randomly Becoming Strong Enough To Defeat Ultima At The End
Joshua’s Power And Clive’s Bonds Help Him Pull Out All The Stops Against Ultima
In a nutshell, Ultima appears invincible, leaving Dion to sacrifice his life in a futile attempt to halt her advance. Clive and Joshua initially believe they are powerless against her, but it is Joshua who ultimately provides the protagonist with the encouragement and resilience required to save the world.
Once more, an unexpected surge of strength derived from friendship emerges in Clive, enabling him to fight with unprecedented vigor. Even the character Ultima is left astonished, finding it hard to believe that so much protective storyline was at play, allowing Clive to persevere and bring this last battle to a close.
8. Cid Somehow Surviving A Death-Defying Fall
Final Fantasy 4 Has A Bad Habit Of Cheapening Such Sacrifices
In the game Final Fantasy 4, there are several instances where characters make selfless sacrifices, which can be quite emotional. For example, Tellah, Parom, and Porom put their lives on the line without hesitation to protect Cecil and his companions.
As a gamer, when I opt for the daring move of self-destructing with the explosive device in my grasp to close the tunnel leading upwards, it seems no one could have made it out alive. Yet, against all odds, I find myself miraculously alive and on the road to recovery shortly after the blast.
