8 Special Grade Level Sorcerers In Jujutsu Kaisen’s Culling Game

The Culling Game arc has begun in Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s already one of the most anticipated parts of the series. This arc introduces several new, exciting sorcerers, as well as bringing back many powerful characters we’ve seen before. The series has never featured so many incredibly strong fighters in one place. Some are officially ranked as Special Grades, but others haven’t been officially graded at all, despite being just as powerful. These sorcerers clearly have the potential to reach Special Grade level.

8. Yuta Okkotsu

  • Cursed Technique: Copy
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: Special Grade

Now that Gojo Satoru is out of the Culling Game in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta Okkotsu is considered the most powerful sorcerer. Yuta first appeared in the prequel story, JJK 0, where he was quickly identified as a Special Grade Sorcerer – a classification only given to four officially recognized sorcerers in the series.

Yuta earned his incredibly high ranking thanks to his ability to copy other cursed techniques, and with the constant support of Rika, a powerful curse spirit. He’s also exceptionally strong because he has a massive amount of cursed energy – more than Gojo and second only to Sukuna. Yuta is poised to be a major force in the upcoming Culling Game.

7. Yuki Tsukumo

  • Cursed Technique: Star Rage
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: Special Grade

Besides Yuta, Gojo, and the former Geto, Yuki Tsukumo is one of just four sorcerers officially recognized as Special Grade in Jujutsu Kaisen. During the Culling Game, she’ll demonstrate why she’s considered such a rare and powerful individual in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.

Yuki has an extremely powerful ability called Star Rage, which lets her increase the impact of her attacks as if they had more weight. She’s about to fight Kenjaku, and it promises to be a thrilling battle. Her most dangerous technique is called Black Hole, and it’s so strong it could potentially destroy the entire world.

6. Kenjaku

  • Cursed Technique: Brain Transplant
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: N/A

Kenjaku ranks among the most formidable villains in Jujutsu Kaisen, surpassed in power only by Sukuna. He’s a cunning strategist who has been secretly controlling the story’s events from a very early stage.

Kenjaku is incredibly powerful because he can transfer his brain into corpses, effectively gaining both the body’s cursed technique and its memories – he did this with Geto Suguru, acquiring his ability to manipulate cursed spirits. While he doesn’t have an official rank, Kenjaku is clearly a Special Grade sorcerer, proven by his ability to fight and even defeat Yuki.

5. Ryomen Sukuna

  • Cursed Technique: Shrine
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: N/A

As a huge Jujutsu Kaisen fan, I truly believe Ryomen Sukuna rivals Gojo Satoru as the most powerful being in the series! Right now, he’s stuck sharing a body with Yuji, which is a major pain for him, but you can bet he’s scheming to really shake things up in the Culling Game – and I’m especially worried about what he might try to do with Megumi.

Where is everyone? And the women, especially? It’s amazing how quickly people are multiplying! Incredible—it’s going to be a bloodbath! —Ryomen Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen)

There’s no question that Sukuna is an incredibly powerful Special Grade cursed spirit – he’s called the King of Curses for a reason. While we haven’t seen the full extent of his technique, Shrine, in the anime yet, it’s already established as one of the most devastating abilities in the series. In addition to his technique, Sukuna has a uniquely powerful physique perfectly suited for Jujutsu Sorcery, featuring two mouths and four hands in his true form.

4. Yoruzu

  • Cursed Technique: Construction
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: N/A

Yorozu hasn’t appeared in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime yet, but she’s likely the most powerful of the ancient, reincarnated sorcerers. Her Cursed Technique is called Construction, the same one used by Maki’s sister, Mai. However, Yorozu has mastered this technique, demonstrated by her ability to create a Perfect Sphere.

Yorozu is undoubtedly a Special Grade sorcerer. She nearly defeated Mahoraga in one hit, something only stopped by Sukuna’s interference. Had Sukuna not intervened, Yorozu would have been among the very few capable of easily defeating the Divine General.

3. Hajime Kashimo

  • Cursed Technique: Mythical Beast Amber
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: N/A

Kashimo is a powerful, reincarnated sorcerer from a previous era. Remarkably, he’s reached this level without ever needing to use his special cursed technique. He nearly defeated Hakari, a top student at Jujutsu High, all while deliberately holding back his abilities.

“Turn Up The Volume!!! Because This Is A Funeral For The Living!!!” — Hajime Kashimo

Kashimo reserves his incredibly powerful Cursed Technique, Mythical Beast Amber—which lets him create anything related to electricity—specifically for battles against Sukuna. Because of this technique, he’s easily at the level of a Special Grade sorcerer.

2. Kinji Hakari

  • Cursed Technique: Private Pure Love Train
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: Unconfirmed

Hakari is an exceptionally gifted student from Jujutsu High, and his incredible Cursed Technique is the main reason why. Called Private Pure Love Train, the technique works through his Domain Expansion, Idle Death Gamble, essentially making him invincible for over four minutes whenever he lands a ‘jackpot’. We saw this in action during his fight with Kashimo, where it allowed him to win.

Hakari also fought Uraume, a powerful and important figure who serves as Sukuna’s right-hand man. Although their fight wasn’t shown on screen and the author later moved on, it seemed like they were equals in strength.

1. Maki Zenin

  • Cursed Technique: N/A
  • Official Sorcerer Rank: Grade 4

Maki wasn’t initially one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. But that changed when the Culling Game began and she fully understood and mastered her Heavenly Restriction. Now, she’s as strong as Toji Fushiguro, who many fans consider to be a Special Grade sorcerer.

Currently, Maki is officially ranked as a Grade 4 sorcerer, but many believe she deserves a Special Grade ranking. This is especially true considering Sukuna thought she could fight on par with Mahoraga. What truly confirms her potential as Special Grade is that she’s already proven stronger than Toji and is expected to continue growing even more powerful.
