Only a few weeks after its initial release as an Early Access title, Grounded 2 quickly became one of the most played games on Xbox – a remarkable achievement given the game is still under development. Building on the success of the first Grounded, the sequel takes place in a new area called Brookhollow Park, offering players plenty of mysteries to discover as they progress through the story. The developers at Obsidian are using the Early Access period to refine the game with regular updates, and this latest one is a part of that process.

To help you choose a game to play on Game Pass, here are three recommendations for the weekend. I’ve tried to include something for everyone – a brand new release, a hidden gem you might have missed, and a top game from last year that’s worth revisiting (or discovering if you haven’t played it yet).

Embark Studios was founded in 2018 by people who previously worked on the popular Battlefield series, along with other experienced game developers. Their first game, The Finals, did well, and this year they released ARC Raiders, a shooter where players try to extract items. Even though ARC Raiders came out between new releases in the massive Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises, it’s become a huge hit on Steam. The game consistently ranks among the platform’s most-played titles, with around 300,000 to 400,000 players online at peak times – more than games like Battlefield 6, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty.

You can earn Praxic Blade Catalysts by completing the Fire and Ice Exotic mission on Legendary difficulty. It’s possible to get all three Catalysts in a single playthrough, and we’ll detail how to do so below.

Season 8 of My Hero Academia is coming to an end after delivering powerful and moving episodes each week. Announced in April 2025 at a Nintendo event, The Duskbloods will be a game only available on the next-generation Switch 2. This is a big deal because FromSoftware, the studio behind the game, has historically only made exclusive titles for Sony PlayStation, and only a couple of times at that. The game also strongly resembles Bloodborne, a popular FromSoftware title from 2015, sharing its distinctive dark, steampunk-inspired look and atmosphere. As more details emerge, this upcoming cooperative multiplayer game, built in the challenging “soulslike” style, is generating a lot of excitement.

According to a recent announcement from Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov, the next seasonal update will arrive on December 10th. The biggest change? Snow! Tarkov will be covered in a beautiful white layer, and players can expect to hear plenty of satisfying crunching sounds as they move through it.
