The eagerly anticipated “Brushes with Death” expansion, hinted at in the plan for “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“, is nearly upon us! Following the Barber update and Hardcore mode, gamers are now ready to delve into an enigmatic tale that’s just waiting to be discovered. Here’s a sneak peek at what this fascinating add-on has in store for you.
When does KCD2 Brushes with Death DLC come out?
The upcoming Downloadable Content (DLC) for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, titled “Brushes with Death,” is set to release on May 15th. Although the specific launch time hasn’t been announced yet, previous releases have typically gone live at 10 AM Central Time. Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect a similar timing for this DLC as well. Here’s a timer to keep track of the “Brushes with Death” release:

Details about the Brushes with Death DLC have been somewhat unclear, but the teaser has added some much-needed insight. When we first saw the artwork, it suggested that the DLC would involve a quest that pushes Henry’s abilities to their limits. This challenge seems comparable to the demanding Hardcore mode. The trailer offers a sneak peek into the start of the quest, depicting a man tied to a post engaging in conversation with a sinister-looking skull.
A skull, a secret, and a painter with a past – Henry's next journey begins with a whisper in the woods. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – Brushes with Death arrives May 15. #KCD2 pic.twitter.com/GzpNaRffdc

The fellow bound to the pole is identical to the artist depicted on the DLC cover. He appears to be in a tough spot, conversing with a skull. Despite not knowing what led the painter to this predicament, his story seems intertwined with his past. Henry might find himself involved and could potentially aid him. On the other hand, the painter may turn out to be the villain. Only time will tell which path the story takes.
As a gamer who grabbed the KCD2 Expansion Pass, I’m automatically scoring the Brushes with Death DLC, since it’s part of the package. The pass sets me back around $29.99 and comes loaded with extra goodies, such as the Shields of Seasons Passing item set, featuring four unique shield designs to give Henry’s equipment a fresh look. If you didn’t snag the pass, fear not! You can still pick up the DLC individually; we just don’t know the price yet.
Apart from “Brushes with Death,” there are two more exciting downloadable content (DLC) planned for “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.” By autumn, players can expect “Legacy of the Forge” where Henry will be tasked with rebuilding Kuttenberg’s forge and eventually mastering blacksmithing. The journey concludes with “Mysteria Ecclesiae,” which takes you deep into Sedletz Monastery, a place believed to host an illness that is taking lives. With these three DLCs on the horizon, it seems like anticipation for “KCD2” will remain high, and I wouldn’t be shocked if it becomes a strong Game of the Year contender.
