Summary
- Infernals are mutated humans with powers mirroring protagonists, adding depth to the Fire Force plot.
- Notable Demon Infernals like Haran and Tempe possess enhanced abilities, posing challenges to the Fire Force.
- Doppelgangers like Burns and Shinmon showcase increased power and unique abilities as Infernals in the Fire Force series.
In the narrative of Fire Force, it’s the Infernals (Homura Bito), who were initially portrayed as mankind’s adversaries, that prove to be regular humans affected by the Fire Combustion Ability. However, it was later discovered that this Combustion was instigated by Doppelgängers originating from a realm known as Adolla, which is essentially Hell.
The Infernals significantly enriched the narrative of the recently concluded “Fire Force” manga series. Some of these entities are formidable adversaries who share similar abilities with the main characters. They have shown to be particularly challenging foes for the Special Fire Force, a team tasked with investigating the origin and vanquishing the Infernals in order to provide their spirits tranquility.
8. Haran Demon Infernal Form
A Desperate Demon Transformation
- Manga Debut: Chapter 108
I stood there, observing the intense clash between Arthur, Shinra, and my comrade Haran – one of the Evangelists. In their final showdown, it seemed Haran was in a tight spot. Desperate for a victory, he decided to play his ultimate move by metamorphosing into a terrifying Demon Infernal with horns. Whether he still held onto human memories remains uncertain, but the transformation momentarily tipped the scales in his favor.
This form exhibited enhanced speed, power, resilience, and firepower. Haran proved he could match Arthur in combat and, given the chance, could have dominated not only Arthur but also Shinra as well, had the fight persisted.
7. Demon Infernal Tempe
The Sentient Suicide Bomber
- Manga Debut: Chapter 121
Initially appearing during the Chinese Peninsula storyline, we encounter Tempus Fugit (or simply Tempe), an intelligent demon known as an Infernal. Unlike most of his kind, he still possesses human memories. In this instance, he engages in combat with Ogun and Shinra to carry out a grim scheme – a collective suicide intended to end not only his life but also the lives of his followers.
In simple terms, Tempe is extremely resilient, capable of withstanding the fierce assaults from Ogun. As a character with pyrokinetic powers, he can unleash a potent long-range fire attack. By harnessing his ability, Tempe immerses his adversary in a fiery beam so intense it looks like a brilliant white flash, detonating shortly thereafter.
6. Konro Sagamiya’s Demon Infernal Doppelgänger
A Mirroring Of Konro
- Manga Debut: Chapter 43
In the year 196, during a major fire incident in Asakusa, as depicted in the Asakusa Arc, this Demon-type entity played a significant role in shaping Benimaru’s character and causing Konro’s affliction within the narrative.
When Benimaru and Konro have exhausted their powers too much, the infernal demon makes its appearance. Instead of standing together against it, Konro shoves Benimaru aside to confront the demon on his own. Unfortunately, this type of demon was capable of mimicking Konro’s pyrokinesis. As a Third-Generation Pyrokinetic with equal destructive power as Benimaru at that moment, Konro had no choice but to push his abilities to their maximum. The battle left him permanently injured and he could no longer wield his pyrokinesis thereafter.
5. Leonard Burns’ Doppelgänger
Adolla-Enhanced Power
- Manga Debut: Chapter 221
Originally the commanding officer of Fire Force Company 1, a Third Generation Pyrokinetic named Burns, held undeniable power as a human. Following his fusion with his Demon Doppelganger, this power was amplified significantly within the realm of Adolla.
Burns kept his memories as an Infernal being. His resilience and power over fire increased tremendously. Even in human form, he was like an armored vehicle, leveraging his Ignition Ability, Voltage Nova, which had several levels—each one significantly more powerful than the previous one.
4. Hibachi Shinmon’s Doppelgänger
A Destructive Obsession
- Manga Debut: Chapter 221
This fiercely combat-focused demon, known as Hibachi, was solely driven to evaluate his successor, Benimaru. Although resembling the original, this infernal being demonstrated no concern for others and aimed at the devastation of Tokyo. He didn’t hesitate to launch hazardous fire assaults, putting civilian lives in peril, and expressed nothing but disapproval and dissatisfaction towards Benimaru.
This fiend boasted an extraordinary talent for levitation, coupled with remarkable toughness and potent firepower. In a swift strike against Benimaru, he obliterated a vast section of the ocean. The sheer intensity of his heat caused Adolla to draw nearer to our planet.
3. Dragon
Human Turned Mythical Beast
- Manga Debut: Chapter 180
The dragon’s character remains somewhat enigmatic due to its remarkable ability to shift between a fiery form and human shape at its discretion. This dragon was a Third Generation Pyrokinetic and Commander of the White-Clad’s Destroyers, undeniably one of the most powerful beings in that form.
With incredible physical power, endurance, and tenacity, he overcame Arthur despite Arthur’s knightly illusions. This dragon not only shattered Excalibur but also withstood an attack from Benimaru, one of the most powerful pyrokinetics in the Fire Force tale. He fully adopted his given moniker, “dragon,” manifesting abilities such as flight using wings and breathign fire through his mouth, much like a legendary beast.
2. Benimaru’s Doppelganger
Benimaru’s Identical & Formidable Double
- Manga Debut: Chapter 230
This being bore a striking resemblance to Adolla’s human counterpart, Benimaru, and was significantly less menacing in appearance compared to typical infernals. Just like Benimaru, this creature possessed pyrokinetic abilities in its Second and Third Generations.
In this narrative, it is revealed that this entity is recognized as one of the strongest doppelgangers. Similar to his counterpart, he possesses Ignition powers. He employs “lai Hand-Sword” methods and has the ability to command all ignition abilities within a defined area, making him one of the most formidable adversaries in the tale.
1. Shinrabanshōman
The God-Like Ultimate Infernal
- Manga Debut: Chapter 296
In this tale, there’s no character more formidable than this one. Endowed with divine powers, he can control Adolla, a force that lets him fashion and alter ideas, bend and distort reality through mastery over fire, heat, energy, and matter. Moreover, he possesses the unique ability to manipulate time. His speed is beyond measure, allowing him to rewind, accelerate, halt, or play time at his discretion, without any consequences.
Besides his extraordinary powers, he possesses a unique ability to manipulate life and death. He isn’t just capable of resurrecting extinct species and cultivating entire forests and ecosystems, but also of bringing back every individual who perished during the catastrophe, as well as those transformed into infernals, and those who met their end throughout the narrative.
