In Destiny 2, the term “Bolt Charge” refers to a move that causes Arc damage. This allows players to summon lightning bolts onto their adversaries. It’s an effective method for dishing out higher damage against larger targets or groups of smaller enemies. If you’re playing as a Titan, you can create a powerful gameplay style by focusing on using Bolt Charge as frequently as possible.
This manual focuses on repeatedly activating your class skill to swiftly accumulate and discharge Bolt Charge stacks. Unlike past Arc Titan strategies in Destiny 2, this method isn’t heavily dependent on melee or grenades, although integrating both abilities enhances effectiveness against various adversaries significantly.

Aspects
The main attraction in this setup is the Storm’s Keep Aspect, which produces Bolt Charge for you and your teammates each time you activate your class skill. Being sheltered by your Barricade, your group accumulates Bolt Charge continuously, and your weapons can unleash their full potential when they reach maximum Bolt Charge stacks.
In this build, Knockout is our chosen secondary feature due to its healing-upon-kill ability. It works exceptionally well when paired with Thunderclap for handling multiple enemies while also restoring your health during hectic encounters.
With this character setup, it’s quite straightforward: Utilize your class skill to amass Bolt Charge, then continuously attack enemies to activate its lightning burst. The synergy among Fragments, Armor Enhancements, and your equipment will enable you to repeatedly use your class ability, resulting in even more Bolt Charge activations.
Fragments
As a passionate enthusiast, I can confidently say that the four components of this construction harmoniously complement one another. Combined, they will provide you with an array of remarkable advantages:
- Spark of Shocks applies Jolt to targets.
- Spark of Ions creates an Ionic Trace when you defeat Jolted target. Traces are also generated when you defeat enemies with Bolt Charge.
- Spark of Discharge grants you a stack of Bolt Charge when you pick up an Ionic Trace. Arc weapon Final Blows also have a chance to give you Bolt Charge stacks.
- Spark of Frequency increases your reload speed and stability after hitting a melee attack, and it also increases the amount of Bolt Charge stacks you gain while amplified.
The collaboration among the four actions is evident: Toss a grenade to trigger Jolt, vanquish that target afterwards to obtain an Ionic Trace. Gather the Trace to accumulate Bolt Charge, and if you’re augmented, you’ll receive additional charges from all sources. These Fragments will be more effective when equipped with a weapon that can deliver Jolt.
Abilities
This build primarily favors Thunderclap, due to its consistency. It effectively eliminates groups of tougher enemies (red bars), and it shines particularly well against swarms of airborne targets.
When it comes to your class skill, you have two options: Rally Barricade or Thruster. The Rally Barricade is highly beneficial when using Storm’s Keep, as it allows your entire team to accumulate more Bolt Charge over time. On the other hand, if you prefer to keep moving around the battlefield, the Thruster would be a better choice for you.
With Rally Barricade, you can unleash Bolt Charge simply by firing at opponents when you’re hiding behind a Barricade. However, if you choose to employ Thruster, you’ll need to use your abilities (like Knockout’s powerful punch) to discharge Bolt Charge instead.

This Armor Mod configuration prioritizes recovering the maximum energy potential. It achieves this through these specific modifications:
- Focusing Strike grants class ability energy when damaging enemies with a powered melee attack (Thunderclap).
- Impact Induction restored grenade energy when causing damage with a powered melee attack.
- Heavy Handed and Reaper generates Orbs of Power for Utility Kickstart, which refunds a bit of class ability energy when you use your class ability.
- Innvervation and Insulation generate grenade and class ability respectively when you pick up an Orb of Power.
- Bomber restores grenade energy when you use your class ability.
Don’t forget that Ionic Traces will restore ability energy too.
Weapons and Armor
- Primary Weapon (Energy): Lodestar Exotic Trace Rifle
- Secondary Weapon (Kinetic): Any Sniper or Fusion Rifle
- Heavy Weapon: Watchful Eye (or any other similar Arc Machine Gun)
In this build, Lodestar, the Exotic Trace Rifle from Episode Heresy, serves as our main weapon, primarily due to its exceptional damage against less formidable foes and its capability to apply a shock effect when fully charged. Use it to clear groups with its basic fire, and once it’s fully charged, turn off the safety and unleash it on yellow-bar enemies from behind your Rally Barricade. The Bolt Charge will accumulate rapidly behind your Barricade, particularly if you’re generating Ionic Traces through collateral damage with Jolt on your primary target.
With an endless supply of backup ammunition, the Lodestar is an incredibly dependable choice. If you prefer generating more Ionic Traces, opt for using another option instead.
For selecting an Exotic armor, consider it an excellent option if you’re aiming to keep Thunderclap at the ready for swiftly dealing with additional enemies and producing Orbs of Power effectively. In other words, this armor is ideal if you want a constant supply of Thunderclap and efficient Orb generation.
