It’s an intriguing thought that Legion and Ghostface could disregard one fundamental rule in Dead by Daylight’s 2vs8 game mode. At first glance, altering rules for individual characters seems like something only necessary in extreme situations. However, while the 2vs8 mode is generally balanced, there’s a compelling reason to bend this rule for these two characters specifically. Keep in mind that such an action could lead to many potential outcomes, but it might be worth exploring this idea given their unique characteristics.
Last year introduced the 2v8 Mode in Dead by Daylight, introducing a fresh take on its gameplay mechanics. As suggested by its title, two Killers and eight Survivors participate in each match, with an additional three generators to mend. In lieu of perks, characters are assigned classes, while Killer abilities undergo some modifications for this specific mode. It’s essential to mention that unlike the Survivors who can pick any character, only specific Killers are accessible, and neither player can select the same Killer. Nevertheless, these restrictions foster an array of intriguing Killer combinations in the 2v8 Mode.
Dead by Daylight Has Reason To Relax its 2v8 Restrictions For Legion and Ghostface
Legion and Ghostface Both Consist of Multiple Characters
In the game Dead by Daylight, The Legion is typically represented by just one character during a trial, but it consists of four characters overall. It would be ideal if multiple Legion members could be active simultaneously in a 2v8 scenario, yet this isn’t currently possible due to the Killer restriction. Similarly, while Dead by Daylight’s Ghostface, played by Danny Johnson, operates solo, most other versions of Ghostface have multiple individuals behind them. This suggests that both The Legion and Ghostface might be able to disregard the 2v8 Killer restriction based on their unique playstyles, but ultimately, they must still adhere to the rules set for 2v8 Killers.
In the first edition of Mortal Kombat, the Ghostface character was portrayed by more than one character, as demonstrated during gameplay.
Dead by Daylight’s Balance Could Change With Doubles of the Same Killers
As a Dead by Daylight gamer, I can’t help but ponder the shift in the game’s dynamics if Legion and Ghostface Killers could team up in a 2v8 scenario. Picture this: Two Legions rampaging through the map, each with their Feral Frenzy ability. That means double the chaos, potentially leaving Survivors scrambling to repair all the damage.
On the other hand, two Ghostfaces prowling around could make for a deadly combination, using their stealth to mark and down Survivors. But here’s the twist: More Survivors also mean it’s easier for them to be spotted and taken out of stealth.
Though not as devastating as a double Nurse or Blight, this Killer setup could prove to be quite formidable. The game would become an intense cat-and-mouse chase, testing the wits and survival skills of every player on the map.
Multiple Legions in a Match May Not Be Warmly Received by All
This action might encounter some opposition. Although Legion isn’t among the most formidable Killers in Dead by Daylight, there are those who dislike facing them due to excessive healing, a common complaint. Having two Legions in a single match could result in a lot of healing, prolonging the game for Survivors and possibly intensifying such complaints. Additionally, having two Legions in a match would also diminish one of their primary weaknesses – lack of map control. While it aligns with the storyline, overusing Legions might not be beneficial for the game’s balance.
In future events of “Dead by Daylight”, having two Legions or Ghostfaces in a trial might align with their lore and excite fans who admire these killers. However, factors like game mechanics and balance should also be considered carefully, as it may not always be feasible, especially given the current state of the game. Making this decision requires careful thought, but the next 2v8 encounter could potentially introduce killer duos.
