Unbelievable: Ranking the Most Colossal Mechas in Power Rangers History!

Summary

  • RPM Ultrazord is a massive 93m tall and combines all Zord Attack Vehicles.
  • Samurai Shark Gigazord stands at 93.2m and can defeat enemies with powerful strikes.
  • Dino Charge Ultrazord with Titano Cannon is the strongest Zord and wields powerful energy beams.

A distinctive feature of Power Rangers series, aside from their vibrant suits, lies in their powerful Zords. Not only does each Power Ranger team possess a set of Zords, but they can merge all or some of them into colossal creatures called Megazords. Contrary to what the footage may suggest, Megazords vary in size, with some being significantly larger than others, and even some Zords themselves. In fact, certain Zords are so enormous that other teams’ Megazords appear minuscule by comparison.

The vast disparity in the size of Power Ranger mechs could be attributed to numerous variables. Some Zords and Megazords are naturally large, while others become enormous due to an abundance of parts (like Ultrazords) or because their design inherently requires a colossal scale (such as Carrierzords). So, what are the largest Power Ranger mechs across the series? Let’s take a look.

10. RPM Ultrazord

Combines All RPM Zords Into One Ultimate Weapon

Series, First Appearance Beyond A Doubt (RPM)
Statistics 93m (H), 94.4m (Wingspan), 53.4m (With Wings), 12,000 tons (Weight)
Notable Description Combined form of all Zord Attack Vehicles

A dream for every Power Rangers fan is to see an Ultrazord combining all existing Zords in a spectacular sequence, and that’s exactly what Power Rangers RPM delivers with the RPM Ultrazord. Symbolically, the RPM Ultrazord can be seen as an “upgrade” of the PaleoMax Megazord, which was Scott Truman’s personal Megazord, themed around prehistoric times, and he was the Series Red Ranger Operator.

The RPM Ultrazord represents the pinnacle of Zord Attack Vehicles; it’s essentially a fusion of the High Octane, Mach (used by both Gold and Silver Rangers), and ValveMax Megazords. Standing at an impressive 93 meters, the RPM Ultrazord is the largest Attack Box in the series and undeniably the most potent. It boasts an impressive physical strength that could effortlessly kick a Venjix Attack Box, and each version of it comes equipped with unique finishing moves.

9. Samurai Shark Gigazord

The Ultimate Zord Combination Of The Samurai Rangers

Series, First Appearance A Crack In The World (Super Samurai)
Statistics 93.2m (H), 57.8m (L), 78.3 (W), 17,700 tons (Weight)
Notable Description The final transformation that combines all existing Samurai Zords that can deflect lightning attacks and utilize Symbol Power

Similar to how a warlord requires a trustworthy horse to ride into battle, the BullZord was the crucial missing piece for the Samurai Rangers on their gameboard, enabling them to vanquish the Nighlock menace. At first glance, it resembled a Zord in the form of a bull pulling a cart, equipped with shoulder missiles (capable of transforming into its own Bull Megazord mode). The BullZord and later the SharkZord played significant roles in constructing the Samurai Rangers’ ultimate weapon: the Samurai Shark Gigazord.

Despite needing to be towed due to its colossal dimensions, the Samurai Shark Gigazord embodies the grace and opulence that defines the Shiba Clan.

After assembling, the 11 Zords distributed their components across the primary Samurai Megazord and the vertical BullZord, eventually assuming the pose of the Samurai Gigazord standing on a pedestal. This form possesses such immense power that its Ultimate Samurai Slash is capable of instantly defeating Grinataur, while its Symbol Power Mega Strike (and even more potent Shogun Strike) employs Symbol Power to eliminate Grinataur, Gigertox, and Skarf in a single strike.

8. Dino Charge Ultrazord With Titano Cannon

The Strongest Zord In The Dino Charge Rangers’ Arsenal

Series, First Appearance Recipe for Disaster (Dino Super Charge)
Statistics 97.5m (H), 61.0m (W), 42.5m (L), 8700 tons (Weight)
Notable Description The most powerful form of the Dino Charge Megazord

As a die-hard Power Rangers fan, I’ve been wondering myself which Zord is the most powerful among the Dino Charge Rangers’ arsenal. With an impressive 10-Ranger team in Power Rangers Super Dino Charge, it’s no wonder the curiosity sets in! The answer is finally unveiled during the intense battle against Sledge’s formidable Fortress. It’s through Dino Charge Purple Kendall that the team manages to assemble the Dino Charge Megazord, alongside the Para, Raptor, and Titano Zords. This extraordinary combination results in the creation of the Dino Charge Ultrazord, a formidable entity that channels all the power of the Dino Charge Energems!

Using the Titan-Raptor Axe, the Dino Charge Ultrazord effortlessly slices through opponents, while its Ultra Plasma Final Blast is an incredibly potent energy blast capable of obliterating enemies. Thanks to Kendall’s brilliance, the Rangers can effectively employ the Titano Cannon, as the Titano Cannon Final Strike harnesses all the Dino Charge Zords’ powers into a destructive energy attack.

7. Pyramidas

The Interstellar Travelling Pyramid Of The Gold Zeo Ranger

Series, First Appearance The Power of Gold (Zeo)
Statistics 102m (H), 75m (W)
Notable Description A floating pyramid that served as the Gold Zeo Ranger’s personal Zord

In the context of Power Rangers Zeo, Pyramidas stood out as unique because it was the first personal Zord for one of the Rangers, belonging to the Gold Zeo Ranger. This massive entity could fire golden lightning bolts and move at incredible interstellar speeds, making it an ideal transport for the Zeo Zords across the battlefield.

On its own, Pyramidas stands at 50 meters tall, but when in Carrier Mode, it extends certain parts of its structure to house all Zeo Zords. When engaged in combat, Pyramidas can straighten up, transforming into Warrior Mode – a colossal robot that towers up to 102 meters. Although it cannot move in this mode, it can unleash powerful energy blasts capable of instantly defeating foes. Its imposing form is enough to instill terror in the hearts of adversaries, as it stands roughly four times taller than most Megazord-sized enemies.

6. Jungle Pride Charge With Lion And Chameleon Power

The Ever-Reliable Mount Of The Jungle Fury Rangers

Series, First Appearance Path of the Righteous (Jungle Fury)
Statistics 103m (L), 58m (W), 7650 tons (Weight)
Notable Description The true form of the Jungle Pride Charge, although its finisher doesn’t have a name

When the Jungle Fury Rhino Ranger wields the Control Dagger to summon the Rhino Animal Spirit, the Jungle Fury team gains command of the Rhino Steel Zord – a powerful mecha characterized by a large horn blade and the capacity to tug along all other Spirit Animals. In essence, it functions as a Carrierzord. While Dominic can transform the Rhino Steel Zord into a combat vehicle using the Rhino Warrior Mode, its true brilliance lies in its transportation capabilities.

Merging the Rhino Steel Zord with the Jungle Master Megazord and the Wolf Zord creates the charging, powerful Jungle Master Stampede. This form can release destructive energy attacks, swift slashes, and impactful punches to annihilate enemies. Meanwhile, when Camille and Jarrod team up with the Rangers, the Rhino Steel Zord transforms into its ultimate Ultrazord form: the Jungle Pride Charge with Lion and Chameleon Power. As its final move, this colossal creature stabs, slashes, and launches energy bursts. Lastly, the Jungle Pride Megazord utilizes the Lion Animal Spirit’s tail – armed with a sharp blade – to slice through the enemy.

5. Tor The Shuttlezord

A Turtle Behemoth That Carried The Thunderzords To Battle

Series, First Appearance A Monster of Global Proportions (Mighty Morphin Season 2)
Statistics 110m (L), 1500 tons (Weight)
Notable Description The second Carrierzord of the franchise, comes with its own Warrior Mode

Not every Ranger squad enjoys the luxury of having a spacious headquarters for their Zords, including the Mighty Morphin team who depended on Tor the Shuttlezord as their trustworthy transport vehicle when battles were required elsewhere. After Tommy transformed into the White Ranger, Zordon assigned Tor to the team. Initially, Tor assisted the Rangers against Lord Zedd’s Four Head before becoming a regular component of the Ultrazord.

Despite the fact that Titanus is considered “longer” than Tor and serves as the first Carrierzord among the Dinozords, Tor stands out with its dual modes. In a vertical position or upon activation, Tor reveals short hands with laser-shooting tips. Its chest can accommodate the Red Dragon Thunderzord (and possibly any other Thunderzord) for recharging purposes. Notably, in combat, Tor proved capable of holding off Serpentera before retreating, and it was the only Thunderzord that survived battle unscathed.

4. Brachiozord

Yet Another Zord In Tommy Oliver’s Arsenal

Series, First Appearance Back In Black (Dino Thunder)
Statistics 112m (H)
Notable Description Personal Carrierzord of Tommy Oliver as the Black Dino Thunder Ranger

In the series “Power Rangers Dino Thunder,” Tommy Oliver makes a significant comeback, playing not only the guide for the new Dino Thunder Rangers but also their Black Dino Ranger. The veteran’s expertise proves crucial in their battle against Mezogog and his troops. As the Black Dino Ranger, Tommy contributes more than just team strategy; he brings the mighty Brachiozord into play. Eager to add this unique Zord to their collection, the Brachiozord is a colossal creature capable of firing lightning bolts. Furthermore, it serves as a Carrierzord, efficiently transporting other Dino Zords onto the battlefield.

It’s worth noting that the Brachiozord doesn’t participate in any Megazord transformations; it’s the only Zord excluded from all Zord combinations. Yet, before being utilized by the Thundersaurus Megazord, the Valkasaurus Megazord takes a ride on the Brachiozord’s neck and surfs on it.

3. Thunderstorm Ultrazord

Provided A Much-Needed Firepower Boost To The Thunderstorm Zord

Series, First Appearance Shimazu Returns, Part 2 (Ninja Storm)
Statistics 150m (L), 69m (W), 13,970 tons (Weight)
Notable Description A combination Zord, where the Thunderstorm Megazord rides on top of the Mammothzord

In the heat of our encounter with Shimazu and his Wolfblades, the Thunderstorm Megazord held its own, but it wasn’t until Cameron Watanabe discovered the legendary Mammothzord that we found a powerful ally. Just like other Ultrazords, the Thunderstorm Ultrazord transformed into a battle mount for the Mammothzord, providing us with an edge in combat.

The standout feature of the Ultrazord lies in its Mammothzord component – a Zord that can be summoned by anyone who plays the Lightning Rift Blaster like a guitar. A crucial aspect of the Mammothzord’s toolkit is its storage ability, allowing it to keep Power Spheres for future use after being struck by the Thunderstorm or Hurricane Megazords, essentially transforming it into a weapon-laden platform. Unfortunately, the Mammothzord was destroyed by Vexacus’s Land Shark, making this Ultrazord configuration inoperable.

2. Serpentera

Lord Zedd’s Beast Of A Personal Zord

Series, First Appearance The Power Transfer, Part 1 (Mighty Morphin Season 2)
Statistics 500m (L), 345m (H), 500K tons (Weight)
Notable Description Personal Zord of Lord Zedd

Regardless of the notoriety of Serpentera as a villain in the Power Rangers series, its background remains largely unknown, with only the fact that Lord Zedd brought it to life upon learning about Zordon’s plan to recruit new Rangers being publicly disclosed. The frequent joke about Serpentera consuming excessive power has been instrumental in allowing the Rangers to escape unscathed following their encounters, as battles against Serpentera have shown that not even the Red Dragon Thunderzord could effectively halt it. Even the Tor the Shuttlezord, though large, was only able to divert its attention, as Serpentera is capable of pushing aside obstacles with ease.

With enough energy, Serpentera can unleash devastating lightning attacks, strong enough to destroy entire planets. Additionally, it moves fast enough that it doesn’t need much time to catch up with fleeing Rangers. Zedd had hidden or buried Serpentera upon his return to prevent enemies from damaging or stealing it. However, General Venjix of the United Alliance of Evil wouldn’t have been able to activate the Zord if not for the combined efforts of Wild Force Red (Cole Evans) and his predecessors in “Forever Red.

1. Chimera Zord

A Zord That Took Generations To Fight

Series, First Appearance Grid Connection (Beast Morphers)
Statistics Presumably 2760m
Notable Description Personal Zord of Evox

In the “Grid Connection” episode of Beast Morphers, the wicked computer virus Evox exploited the secrets of the Keeper and crafted his own mighty Zord. This Zord was an imposing four-legged creature with wings, boasting a circular mouth that unveiled a main head and a mane made up of six dinosaur heads. The heroes called this terrifying creation the Chimera Zord.

Regardless of its single emergence, the Chimera Zord was an overwhelming foe for the Mighty Morphin Rangers, Dino Thunder, Dino Charge, and Grid Battleforce combined. Its seven heads were capable of firing numerous laser beams, and due to its immense size, it possessed an extraordinary level of durability that rendered multiple attacks from Megazords ineffective. Interestingly, the Chimera Zord was eight times larger than Serpentera, making it a staggering 2760 meters tall – the largest Zord ever known. It wasn’t until the combined forces of the Dino Charge Megazord and the Beast-X King Zord unleashed a powerful blast that Chimera Zord was sent hurtling into space, ultimately exploding.
