In RoadCraft, you take on the role of a disaster recovery manager, tasked with using your construction equipment to rebuild devastated areas after natural disasters. The game features realistic physics, so you’ll need to think about terrain, vehicle weight, friction, and speed as you transform the landscape.
To accomplish your tasks effectively, depending on the nature of the job, the type of ground, and the necessary tools, you might need to change the vehicle you’re using in RoadCraft. Throughout your gameplay, you’ll frequently switch between trucks, cranes, loaders, and other heavy machinery that you have unlocked. If you’re unsure about how to do this, our guide can help make it simple for you to switch vehicles in RoadCraft.
How To Switch Vehicles in RoadCraft
Though it may reduce the authenticity of the gameplay experience, RoadCraft allows you to quickly change vehicles as long as you follow the instructions accurately. Here’s a simple guide on how to switch vehicles:
[Your Paragraph or Sentence Here]
- Open your map. You’ll see various tabs like “Infrastructure,” “Objectives,” “Bridges,” and, most importantly, for this task, “Vehicles.” Press “Tab” on the keyboard, the View button on Xbox, or the Touchpad on PlayStation to access the map.
- Go to the Vehicles tab. Here, you’ll see a complete list of all your available machines. Your currently active vehicle will be highlighted with a green mark on its icon. From here, you have two options for any other vehicle:
- Focus Camera: Selecting this will pan your camera to the chosen vehicle’s location on the map, giving you a quick overview of its surroundings.
- Enter Vehicle: This is your instant swap option. Choosing “Enter Vehicle” will immediately switch you into the driver’s seat of the selected machine. This way, you can seamlessly transition between tasks across the vast maps.

When changing vehicles, it’s essential to understand that they don’t magically transport to your current position. Instead, you’ll immediately reappear at the location where the vehicle was previously left. So, always be aware of where you park your vehicles, or else you might end up spending extra time shuttling between them.
In instances when your vehicle becomes immovable and you can’t seem to find a solution, don’t worry! If you encounter such a situation or urgently need to transport your vehicle back to a significant checkpoint, the “Recover” function is there to assist you. To activate it, just press and hold the ‘R’ key. You will then be presented with two choices: Recovery Area and Forward Base. Pick either one as per your convenience.
