Hogwarts Legacy 2: Why Quidditch Must Be All or Nothing!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the remarkable achievement that is Hogwarts Legacy. Its unprecedented success has undeniably brought joy to countless gamers worldwide. However, this acclaim comes with its own set of challenges – the pressure is on for its sequel to surpass and build upon the exceptional experience we’ve come to love.

In the first Hogwarts Legacy, we were captivated by the innovative approach to the magical world of Harry Potter. Now, with Hogwarts Legacy 2 on the horizon, it stands not just as a continuation, but as a testament to the expectations set by its predecessor. The anticipation is palpable, and I, along with countless other fans, eagerly await the magic that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will weave.

Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately, depending on one’s perspective), there are numerous noticeable areas for improvement in the potential sequel of Hogwarts Legacy. Beyond various storyline and gameplay flaws, there are several apparent elements and lore-based ideas that should be incorporated into the existing framework. As many have proposed, more immersive classroom activities similar to those found in games like Bully or Persona could significantly enhance the fantasy of attending a magical school. However, one essential aspect of the Harry Potter series should also be integrated into this blend.

Why Quidditch Will Be Important in Hogwarts Legacy 2

Quidditch Is a Glaring Omission in Hogwarts Legacy

One peculiar absence in the game Hogwarts Legacy is the exhilarating airborne wizard sport, quidditch – a unique blend of soccer, cricket, and water polo. It remains unclear as to why Avalanche Software decided against including quidditch in the final version of the game; some have hypothesized that it was to pave way for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, a separate game dedicated entirely to the sport. Although Quidditch Champions has been launched, and regardless of its potential as a live-service title, future installments such as Hogwarts Legacy 2 should consider incorporating it, given its immense potential within the RPG genre.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the manner in which Quidditch is depicted feels a bit clumsy. The Headmaster, who happens to be Black, announced the suspension of the season following an injury sustained by a pure-blood student during a match.

Quidditch Could Greatly Improve the Hogwarts Legacy 2 Experience

As a gamer diving into Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, I’ve got to admit it’s not perfect. It’s light on content and depth, but surprisingly fun. This game is an impressive attempt at bringing a fictional sport to life, and the physics, controls, and rule adjustments make it feel intuitive and engaging. However, despite the potential for updates and expansions, I can’t help but feel that Quidditch Champions will never reach the grandeur and immersive world of an RPG like Hogwarts Legacy.

In the expansive world of Hogwarts Legacy, it’s possible to imagine Quidditch being incorporated as an engaging optional extra. Players might interact with this magical sport in a fashion similar to guilds found in The Elder Scrolls series. For instance, Quidditch could feature its own unique quest line, advancement system, and storyline. This player-driven narrative would enhance the immersion of playing as a Hogwarts student, allowing players to explore the sporty character type while learning a fresh gameplay aspect. This addition could significantly boost the fantasy of being a Hogwarts student by offering an authentic Quidditch experience.

It’s reasonable to argue that including Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy 2 is not just a desirable addition, but practically essential for the sequel. The absence of Quidditch in the initial game might seem perplexing, considering it was addressed separately in Quidditch Champions. However, if Quidditch were to be excluded again in the second installment, it could give the impression that Avalanche Software is intentionally holding back an integral part of the RPG sandbox to drive players towards Quidditch Champions, a live-service game. This move would undoubtedly be disappointing and disruptive to the immersive experience.
