This article contains spoilers from the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Summary

  • Solo Leveling Season 3 might introduce new Monarchs superior to magical beasts.
  • Querehsha is weaker than other Monarchs due to abilities geared towards weaker foes.
  • Jin-Woo easily defeats Querehsha, proving her to be one of the physically weakest.

The animated adaptation of “Solo Leveling” may have concluded, but Jin-Woo’s narrative is on the brink of a thrilling new chapter filled with the most formidable antagonists in Season 3. These adversaries surpass all other magical beings in terms of danger, posing a serious threat to Jin-Woo. Interestingly, though, one of these monarchs is reportedly not as powerful as the others, according to the series’ creator, Chugong himself. Who could this underpowered king be, and why does he lack the strength of his peers?

In the second season of “Solo Leveling”, the Monarchs made their official entrance, following Jin-Woo’s successful clearance of the Jeju Island dungeon rupture. Unexpectedly, the Frost Monarch, Sillad, and the Beast Monarch, Rakan, materialized within an ant cave, sensing the Shadow Monarch’s powers. By their arrival, it became evident to fans that they were not here for a casual visit, as their imposing aura hinted at the immense powers and capabilities they possessed.

Solo Leveling Creator Confirms This Monarch Is Weak

Why This Monarch Fails to Match Others in Power

One captivating aspect in the series ‘Solo Leveling‘ lies in the presence of the Monarchs and their significant roles within the narrative. The Monarchs, like the Rulers, were brought forth by the Supreme Entity, yet unlike the maintainers of the world, they were designed for destruction. As a result, it’s only a matter of time before they come into conflict with the Rulers, given their fundamentally contrasting values and philosophies.

In the current stage of the anime, viewers understand that Jin-Woo has earned the title of the Shadow Monarch following his transition in the first season’s main quest. As of now, he remains unaware of the true nature of his powers. However, the appearance of other Monarchs in season 2 hints at him getting nearer to discovering the mystery behind the system and its link to the Shadow Monarch.

“I was always curious what another Monarch would taste like.”—Querehsha

In the current state of the series, Jin-Woo is yet to fulfill his role fully as the Monarch. However, in the anime so far, we’ve seen the White Flames Monarch, Beast Monarch, and Frost Monarch make their appearances. As we move forward into the next season, there’s a strong likelihood that more monarchs will be introduced, potentially including the Monarch of the Beginning, Legia, and the Monarch of the Plagues, Querehsha. However, any significant changes to the storylines that might be explored could alter this lineup.

In the series Solo Leveling, its creator, Chugong, shares an intriguing detail about one of the monarchs’ power. On a Korean online forum called DCinside, a fan asked a question, and their dialogue is as follows: (Translation provided)

The conversation between Chugong and the fan goes like this:

Fan: “Hey, Chugong! How strong is the strongest monarch?”
Chugong: “I can’t reveal the exact strength of each Monarch. But I can share that one of them has a power level higher than the ‘God of Death’ (Death Scythe) in Solo Leveling.”

This means that the strongest monarch in the series possesses a power greater than the God of Death, as depicted in Solo Leveling.

Hello there! I was wondering if it’s accurate to say that, based on her character depiction in the narrative, Queen Queresha appears to be the least powerful among the monarchs?

She performs poorly in one-on-one situations, as her skills are primarily designed for overpowering less strong adversaries.

Chugong’s response aligns well with the fact that Querehsha was not designed to be the most powerful among the Monarchs. Her formidable skills, though fearsome, might prove ineffective when employed against her equals, and particularly against Jin-Woo. For example, she became complacent following a moment of annoyance when an insect-like creature like Beru defied her authority. Essentially, from the outset, she had no real opportunity to outmatch Jin-Woo.

Moreover, Querehsha appears to lack the dominant presence that Antares and the other Monarchs seem to exude. Instead, she might give off an unsettling or manipulative impression, but it’s evident she’s not as powerful compared to them. Her abilities are geared more towards support and managing crowds, which makes her less formidable in one-on-one encounters where she has to depend solely on herself.

Is Querehsha Truly the Weakest?

Jin-Woo Easily Defeats Querehsha

From the storyline of the Solo Leveling manhwa, it appears that Quehrehsha is among the least powerful, if not the most feeble, in their group. In fact, Jin-Woo was able to overcome her effortlessly without fully claiming the power of the Shadow Monarch as they were an unfavorable match. Although humans might find her abilities fearsome, they had minimal impact on Jin-Woo because he is immune to poisons and other ailments.

Querehsha’s feelings toward Jin-Woo’s powers significantly influenced her defeat. When Beru was serving a new master, her anger and annoyance clouded her judgment during the fight. This emotional distraction ultimately led to her defeat, as she was swiftly eliminated from the battlefield after being defeated by the strongest hunter.

It seems ludicrous to suppose that he intended to deploy such troops as a means of obstructing us.

If Quehrehsha had more significant achievements within the story of Solo Leveling, it would lend greater credence to the argument that she’s not among the physically weakest characters. However, due to her minor role and swift defeat, we didn’t get to witness much of her true potential. Ultimately, her story concluded tragically, leaving her supporters with no other option but to accept her premature end.
