Xbox Game Pass Welcomes The Division 2 with Exciting New DLC!

Summary

  • The Division 2 joined Xbox Game Pass on May 27.
  • Its arrival coincides with the release of its Battle for Brooklyn DLC, available for $14.99.
  • Three more titles are coming to Xbox Game Pass before the end of the month, while eight have already been confirmed for June 2025.

In May 2025, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was added to the collection of games available through Xbox Game Pass. This addition happened at the same time as the launch of its newest DLC expansion pack. As the 14th new title this month and the 59th since the beginning of the year, The Division 2 is now among the many games that subscribers can access with their Xbox Game Pass membership.

Back in March of ’19, I jumped into the world of “The Division 2”, a looter shooter set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, created by Ubisoft’s Swedish studio, Massive Entertainment. This game was released on PC, last-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and it was met with mostly positive reviews, as reflected in its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, averaging 83 and boasting a 91% recommendation rate among reviewers.

To my delight, this game has sold over 10 million copies, making it one of Ubisoft’s most successful titles ever. As a result, Massive Entertainment decided to extend the post-launch content roadmap for “The Division 2”, and they’re still providing updates today, even though they initially intended to wrap up DLC development by late ’20.

On May 27th, “The Division 2” made its debut on Xbox Game Pass for the very first time. Since it’s not a day-one release, you can play this looter shooter by signing up for any non-Core membership tier. Additionally, “The Division 2” is compatible with Xbox Cloud Gaming, which means Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can stream it on their supported devices.

This catalog update coincides with the launch of the Battle for Brooklyn DLC for The Division 2, where players prepare for their final showdown against the Cleaners, one of the game’s primary enemy groups. Following the pattern with Xbox Game Pass releases, Microsoft subscribers can play the base game through their subscription, but they have the option to buy this and additional downloadable content without owning the game itself. The Battle for Brooklyn is priced at $14.99 individually, but it’s also part of the New York DLC Bundle, which usually sells for $39.99 and is currently discounted by 50% on the Xbox/Microsoft Store until June 2. This bundle comes with the Warlords of New York expansion, a level boost to 40, and improvements like increased storage space.

As May winds down, Microsoft has several Xbox Game Pass releases lined up for the rest of the month. The first one is “To A T”, a narrative-driven puzzle game that’s set to debut on May 28th. Following closely are “Spray Paint Simulator” and “Metaphor: ReFantazio”, scheduled for release a day later.

As a thrilled Xbox Game Pass subscriber, I’m excitedly looking forward to next month’s lineup! In June 2025, eight games are confirmed to join our gaming library—a rare early sneak peek for the service. The fun begins with the releases of “Crypt Custodian” and “Symphonia” on the 3rd, followed by the “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition” a week later. On the 17th, we’ll get our hands on “FBC: Firebreak” and “Lost in Random: The Eternal Die.” Two days after that, “Rematch” will be added to our collection. Last but not least, “Against the Storm,” initially launched on PC Game Pass four years ago, will finally make its console debut on the 26th!
