- The game’s Make It Rain Campaign is underway until June 11.
On May 27th, the eagerly awaited Patch 7.25 for Final Fantasy 14 went live, introducing the Occult Crescent combat zone for players who relish battle. This update for Final Fantasy 14 also featured Mamool Ja allied society quests, continued the Hildibrand storyline, and made some slight enhancements to boost the area-of-effect (AoE) damage capability of four Jobs.
The latest field operation zone in Final Fantasy 14 transports players to the enigmatic island known as the Occult Crescent, nestled between Limsa Lominsa and Tural. This island is steeped in arcane lore, with influences drawn from the War of the Magi within Final Fantasy 14, as well as the Job system from Final Fantasy 5. The South Horn region of the Occult Crescent holds the key to acquiring the Phantom Relic Weapons, essential for endgame content. To explore the mysteries hidden within the Occult Crescent, players must first finish the main scenario quest “Dawntrail” and find the Expedition Messenger at the eastern docks of Tuliyollal. Be aware that Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.25 requires an extra 1.5 GB of storage space.
In addition to new combat experiences, Final Fantasy 14‘s latest update offers a variety of activities for players. Patch 7.25 introduces the next installment of the popular Hildibrand quest series, where players aid in the search for a missing inspector in the advanced city of Solution Nine. Furthermore, Final Fantasy 14‘s 7.25 update includes the Mamool Ja allied society quests for Gatherers to progress from level 90 to 100. Accessing these Mamool Ja societal quests necessitates completing the “Aiming High” and “Lost and Powerless” side quest chains in Yak T’el’s jungles. Lastly, the update adjustments slightly enhanced the area-of-effect (AoE) damage output for the Ninja, Bard, Machinist, and Summoner Jobs in response to the second battle of the Arcadion Cruiserweight (Savage) raid tier, which requires players to manage multiple enemies simultaneously.
Despite the fact that Patch 7.25 in Final Fantasy 14 introduced several long-awaited features shortly after the launch of Dawntrail, players had already begun expressing worries about this update prior to its release. Issues such as certain armor sets not appearing on Viera or Hrothgar characters, along with ongoing questions about Job balance and server stability post-update, leave some uncertainty about how effectively Patch 7.25 will tackle these problems.
The latest update for Final Fantasy 14 coincides with the ongoing Make It Rain Campaign that lasts until June 11th. As we anticipate the release of Patch 7.3 later this summer, we’ll have to wait and see how Final Fantasy 14 maintains its momentum.

PVE Job Changes
During the thrilling AAC Cruiserweight M2 (Savage) phase in Patch 7.25, I took a close look at the offensive balance within the DPS role, particularly when facing numerous enemies simultaneously. Recognizing that some jobs weren’t dealing enough area of effect damage, I made strategic adjustments. For these underperforming jobs, I boosted potencies and either reduced or entirely eliminated penalties when taking on multiple foes.
PVP Job Changes
The overall pace of the game has picked up since changes were implemented with the Guard in Update 7.18, and area-of-effect attacks that focus on the player have been introduced in Update 7.2, leading to a more dynamic gaming experience.
Even at higher levels or during complex team strategies, there remains a propensity for battles to stalemate.
To enhance individual players’ ability to resolve stalemates more effectively, we’ve modified some aspects related to Knockout abilities and the power of area-of-effect attacks.
Additionally, we’ve boosted underutilized PvP role actions to provide players with more diverse combat choices.
Warrior
To enhance a warrior’s endurance and ensure better stability following the use of their ultimate move, Primal Scream, we fine-tuned Fell Cleave and the effect known as Thrill of Battle.
Dark Knight
We increased the potency of dark knight’s limit break, Eventide, to improve its offensive utility.
Gunbreaker
Since Gunbreaker is frequently used and tends to have higher win rates than other tanks, we’ve shortened the duration of the “Heavy” effect caused by Fated Brand to maintain a more balanced gameplay environment.
Monk
Following a succession of gradual improvements, the monk has achieved exceptional win rates, particularly in upper divisions.
To balance out the challenges for opponents, we’ve modified the Monk’s offensive strategy. Instead of relying heavily on the limit break, Meteodrive, we are now focusing more on the move called Phantom Rush.
Samurai
To improve playability, we increased the barrier potency of Ogi Namikiri and Kaeshi: Namikiri.
Reaper
To enhance Reaper’s offensive power, we’ve amplified the strength of the wide-range attacks Communio and Perfectio.
Viper
Previously, we boosted Viper’s combat abilities to align with other melee damage-dealing roles. Considering the upgrades made to other jobs this round, we’ve tweaked Uncoiled Fury to make it simpler to knock out enemies, as its effectiveness towards the primary target remains consistent, regardless of multiple targets being struck.
Bard
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled about the updates to the Warden’s Paean! To enhance the bard’s defensive stance and facilitate smoother movement, they’ve added a new effect, extended the duration of the action, and shortened the recast time for Repelling Shot. Recognizing there was potential for improvement in the bard’s offensive capabilities, they’ve also boosted the potency of Harmonic Arrow to increase its knockout power!
Machinist
To enhance the effectiveness of Bioblaster and Aether Mortar, we’ve extended their duration, boosted their power, and improved their defense fortitude. This modification aims to empower their offensive and defensive capabilities, particularly in strategic areas close to the tactical crystal.
Dancer
To boost a dancer’s typically low offensive performance, we’ve enhanced the power of Starfall Dance, Saber Dance, and Dance of the Dawn.
Black Mage
From a devoted fan’s perspective, I’m thrilled about the enhancement made to my favorite Black Mage’s Limit Break, Soul Resonance! To make it more effective in battles compared to other roles, we’ve boosted its stack count and amplified the power of Flare Star and Frost Star. Can’t wait to see the difference it makes!
Summoner
Building upon our earlier modifications, we’ve strengthened actions related to two forms of Limit Break and increased the power of Radiant Aegis’ defense, thus enhancing both the offensive and defensive abilities of the Summoner.
Pictomancer
To enhance Pictomancer’s combat flexibility, we’ve decreased the time it takes for each action, thus expanding their battlefield possibilities. Additionally, to bolster the job’s somewhat limited offensive capabilities, we’ve amplified the power of two actions that require prerequisite steps, specifically Mog of the Ages and Retribution of the Madeen.
White Mage
To maintain a fair balance among all healing roles, we’ve tweaked the damage absorption capacity of Protect, which is summoned by Seraph Strike, for the White Mage, as its current high usage and victory rates have been noted.
Sage
Due to underperformance of Mesotes, Sage’s limit break, we’ve amplified the duration-based damage inflicted by Lype.
Crystalline Conflict
Season Fourteen will end, and Season Fifteen will begin.
At the conclusion of the season, players ranked among the top 300 in the North American, European, and Japanese server regions, as well as those ranked within the top 100 on the Oceanian servers, will be awarded vouchers through the Moogle Delivery System.
Individuals who have reached the Bronze level or above during the season are eligible for prizes. You can collect these rewards by talking to the Seasonal Quartermaster located at Wolves’ Den Pier (X:4.9 Y:5.7).
Season Fifteen will be held on the Primal, Materia, Gaia, and Light data centers.
The following adjustments have been made to Borderland Ruins (Secure):
- Tactical points required for victory have been reduced from 3,000 to 2,400.
- Tactical points earned for defeating interceptor drones have been reduced from 15 to 10.
- Tactical points earned for defeating interceptor drones α have been reduced from 45 to 30.

New items have been added. (Items added in Patch 7.25 will be listed at a later date.)
Several item names have been changed.

In the realm of Cosmic Exploration, we’ve made some changes to the challenge level, optimal quality standards, and incentives for specific missions.
In the course of space exploration, players will be alerted via on-screen text that they won’t earn points when they take on a stellar mission without either Prospect or Triangulate as their current status.
New miner and botanist gathering points have been added.
New items have been added to gathering points.
The following adjustments have been made to fishing holes in Yak T’el:
The level of Ankledeep and Bitterbark Cenote has been reduced from 95 to 94.
The level of Cenote Moxutural and Cenote Jayunja has been reduced from 96 to 94.
New mounts, minions, facewear, and accessories have been added.
To alleviate overload on our servers, we plan to create several copies (instances) of Tuliyollal, Yak T’el, and the recently incorporated region from Patch 7.25. This will distribute the gameplay load evenly across multiple servers, ensuring a smoother experience for all players.
In Patch 7.21, the number of various field instances present in Sinus Ardorum has been decreased from 5 to 3.
In the upcoming update, Patch 7.21’s subdivision of Mare Lamentorum, which was initially introduced to reduce overcrowding, will no longer exist.
In the Actions & Traits window, you’ll now find “Phantom Action 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5” listed as tasks to be performed.
New achievements, titles, portratit accents, and adventurer plate accents have been added.
Additions have been made to the auto-translation dictionary.
New music, sound effects, trophies (PS5) and achievements (Xbox Series X/S) have been added.
