In October 2024, Nintendo Cube, formerly known as Nintendo, introduced their latest party game on the Switch platform. Three months later, in January 2025, Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 and mentioned that several of their games would receive updated versions tailored to take advantage of the new console’s capabilities. It was later confirmed that Super Mario Party Jamboree would be among these enhanced editions, featuring a Jamboree TV mode. At the time, Nintendo didn’t disclose many specifics about the other modifications they plan to make.

The details surrounding the updated version of “Super Mario Party Jamboree” for the Switch 2 have become clearer with the release of a feature overview video from Nintendo Japan. A four-minute video, initially spotted by Gematsu, highlights new control options utilizing the Switch 2’s camera and Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode. Additionally, the revamped “Super Mario Party Jambree” will incorporate voice command functionality to utilize the device’s built-in microphone. Voice controls, which should also be compatible with external microphones, will be available in specific situations such as during the Carnival Coaster and Bowser Live segments.

Over a dozen original Switch games will receive paid upgrades for the Switch 2 in the near future, while around the same number of titles will enjoy free enhancements with the new hardware within the same timeframe.
